The Financial Conduct Authority? Why would they be investigating it? The complaint has nothing to do with financial services. I thought it was the European Commision that were investigating? As its EU state aid laws that they are investigating?

Think it’s in relation to wasps cooking the books.

So I contacted the fca this week to ask for an update on their investigation into wasps reporting, which was all over the press back in April. As a google search confirms.

They tell me they aren’t investigating anything to do with it..
Would they disclose it?

We need them to have another terrible season and hopefully get relegated the crowds will fall even more.

I wonder how the stadium sponsorship hunt is going?

Heard today (although not from my usual source at ACL so don't complain if it isn't true!) there's a lot of cuts taking place which will impact the Wasps match day experience including getting rid of the fan village.

I read that on wasps forum and immediately someone thought the source was here.

It could be that they're cutting back for the non league matches whilst the league is on hold for the WC?

not out of the question if they used their delorean
That was hilarious and just showed the reality of how little people care. We announced our kit launch very late in the day and sold it out immediately. They had to have there's somewhere there would already be a crowd and have other things to get people interested. Pretty much like their home games really.

Why they think that significant reductions in non rugby activities means an improved on field position is beyond me. The whole premise of the model is that all this stuff would give them advantage over clubs that didn't have it.

Where's Italia? He told us all that the fan village and similar gimmicks were works of great businessmen...

Richardson's pockets may be even heavier than Jak Hickman's but they aren't endless. Temporary respite for now with the TV cash injection but with the bond payment due in the not too distant future it's going to be interesting. Call in the fumigators...

It’s evident that they’re fucked. Business model that normalises £10m annual losses, £35m debt due to be called in in less than 3 years, said bond trading at 72% of value. Seems they’ve bitten off more than they can chew.

Is it correct they have to repay 20% per year back from this cash injection?

It’s a percentage dependant in a lot of factors I think that’s the upper limit

I’ve seen the score wasps 21 saracens 43. Great start to the cup/season. Lol
Had a look on twitter and the first thing that came up was "That has to be the worse wasps performance l have witnessed"

Seems they also started running out of food and drink before the game even started and the PA doesn't work at all now. A success all round!

I’d just like to say on the eve of potentially another season of failure for the franchise all the very best from Coventry and Warwickshire to all of the franchises opponents this season.

Also, anyone having the slightest thoughts of watching them needs to have a good look in the mirror. You go then hope you sleep well at night.
I might find some online live streams of their games and support the opposing team if I’m bored and they’re playing on a Friday or Sunday or something. Not sure if that means I need to look in the mirror, but if it does I don’t mind as I’m a good looking fella.

I've just got home from watching and it was embarrassing. People can say it was a glorified friendly but when you're putting in experienced players against an academy side and you ship 50 points that's not good enough. Our defence again is just laughable. As soon as a side gets in our 22 it's a guaranteed try. How many penalties did we give away? 15? 20? I lost count. Sarries today showed if you are coached well it doesn't matter what players you put out on the pitch. How we have not brought in an experienced coach to sort out how we defend is just questionable. Our good old friend injuries is striking again. Vellacott and Porter last week and Jimmy and Brookes going off today and add that to those picking up injuries in pre season (Lima/Fekitoa/Shields) and it's not a great start. Mentions to Flament, Umaga and Sirker today.

5 years on, with the deck totally stacked in their favour, the council promoting them all over the place, rent and other income from CCFC, a massive cash injection from the bond issue...obviously one swallow doesn't make a summer today but even so-karma's a bitch
