I'd be a lot happier if we were getting gates of over 12k ........however, Wasps claiming a gate of 12k is an alternative "take" on some of the reported attendances at Highfield road, which somehow seemed a bit lower than the attendees over the years. Cash was always useful - not sure what HMRC ever made of it.

There were a number of runners who gave up their place (despite paying up) after finding out Wasps were all over that half marathon.

You are right about the self important tossers giving it plenty around the arena with their season tickets in their lanyard like they're vips... villainous insect pricks!

I see wearing of such a lanyard as akin to a badge saying you're on the sex offenders register

What would they do with the ground do you think?
I think they would rather knock it down and put housing on it than let SISU have it. It's getting on for 15 years old now so the maintenance costs are only going to rise. Wasps have taken the debt off the council so that's one less thing for them to worry about and it would be a nice earner for them selling it to a developer.
If they do offer to rent it back to the club it will be at a high price which SISU won't want to pay.

So we’re fucked?

Counting season tickets even if they don't turn up I can understand as its a paid for ticket. Giving away 3K tickets to people who ran a race and have expressed no interest in attending a game and then adding them all to the attendance is a bit of a farce.
The whole thing has been a farce from the start. So what is the surprise on it still being a farce?

At least 12k gates will be able to pay the millions needed soon or be enough to raise many millions more to cover it from somewhere else.....

It is probably the same case as our attendance figures were at the Ricoh, with any ticket sold regarded as a bum on a seat (even if ST holders weren't there). It always irritates me that they don't know how many people are actually in the stadium!
For comparison, and i know it's a bit different being a local derby, Bristol had 26.5K for their match against Bath on Saturday.
See how Wasps get on playing in front of a proper rugby crowd at Gloucester on Saturday!

They should know how many there are, all tickets are barcoded. Surely the readers collect that data.

As a Sky Blues fan and a glos fan I hope Gloucester smash them all the way back to London...

In this day and age, that thing should be a piece of piss! The way they used to do it was to count all the ticket stubs collected by the turnstile operators (which is why it always took until midway through the second half to add it up.
And before THAT (when everyone paid on the gate), they used to have counters on the turnstiles to see how many times it had been turned. It isn't difficult!

And as a safety professional, i find it abhorrent that they don't know how many people are in the ground (i.e. need to be accounted for)!

Do you genuinely believe they don't know? Juat because they don't publish them, doesn't mean that they don't know.

Just an observation.
Seats are still blue
Seats have ‘Sky blues’ on them bad ‘CCFC’
Big CCFC badge is still on the frame of the stadium

They have announced they are building a training ground in Henley in Arden now.

So it was the Higgs and then Old Leamingtonians.

It's more laughable than our stadium.

Are you sure that's not their other academy in Henley Oxfordshire? It's referred to in one of the other threads

Nah I don't think so

Club Statement – Training Base

It's getting further and further away from Coventry every time they announce a place.

Very much a scaled down thing from the kicking barn etc that was envisaged a few years ago. It's currently a college sports centre so they're probably not going to be spending much on it at all, just using existing facilities. Probably a sensible move for them. Whilst Leamington could be considered as 'Greater Coventry' I don't think Henley-in-Arden could, feels a bit more like its within Birmingham's orbit.

Wonder if Duggins will have a rant about their broken promises?

What I don't get is why none of their fans or the Telegraph ask what happened at the Higgs or Leamington? Contracts were supposedly exchanged with Old Leamingtonians too.

As usual the CT are making out it's a big story, whereas the reality it's a further downgrade of the top class facilities they were due to open in Coventry, then Leamington. They're now playing at a cast off from an FE College at the lowest possible cost.

Of course they are, no questions asked about the previous 2. ;)

exchanged contracts subject to planning permission guess that all but puts to bed any move back to London area............... assuming it happens not been good at seeing things through so far.

Planning permission should not be an issue, the site is sufficiently away from Henley in Arden and it is pretty much existing use. Funding should not be an issue, at least some of the facilities there could be used but wasps have a pot of money from their CVC share deal they can use

as for distance from Coventry.......... its an easy journey, probably right side of Warwickshire for the players (many are Leamington based), and its not like it is unusual for teams to be training some distance from their home ground eg Villa and their Bodymoor Heath facility

Although officialy in Warwickshire Henley in Arden has a Birmingham postcode so you are right.

What about the last 2?

Even you are coming on here bigging it up like the CET do even though it's the third time they have said the same?

The rest is just pretty factual, like always
