McDonnell won’t get in, we both know that. Let’s suppose he does and he wrecks the economy-if I voted for him I would admit my mistake. But there is nobody from my generation yet in a position to run for office.
This is about recognising that the economic reality for millennials is harder than it was for their parents. You seem to ignore any evidence even when you post contradictory BBC articles on the subject. Corbyn and McDonnell only have the leadership because of the failings of a Tory-lite Labour and neoliberal policies.
And this is where I don't get you defending the policies.
House prices are vastly up. But as we saw they are about as affordable as they always were because of the lowest ever interest rates. But to help the younger generations in older life (yes their pensions got obliterated before they even started) many could rely on money left them. They could invest it for their futures. But you think it is a good idea for it to be heavily taxed. This money could make a massive difference to many. The poorer the recipient the more of a difference it would make.
Let's have a bit of a guess here. 250k house. First 125k tax free. 125k at 40% tax. 50k tax. 200k handed over less expenses. Shared between 2 is 25k lost each. 500k house. Not unusual these days. 125k tax free. 375k 40% tax. 150k tax. 75k each lost to tax. Shared between 3 is 50k lost to tax each. The difference between securing a future and not if they couldn't afford to buy a house before. So they still rely on the state.
It is the man on the street that would get hit not the rich. Labour are supposed to be for the man on the street. Take from the rich and give to the poor. The rich stay rich as they manage to keep their money in the family.
So a generation ago Labour did a bad job. So it was the fault of my generation. A generation later they do it again. Why wouldn't it be your fault this time?
