People were saying on page 1 see where we are on boxing day...

... Well as it stands we're level with playoffs and only 3 points off the autos.

But yeah Robins out because its a wide open league so actually we're not doing better than last year, or something.

Imagine actually wanting Robins out or trying to claim we're actually rubbish.

3 points off the autos. On boxing day.

We are closer to 11th than the autos

I think some of the frustration comes from it’s a very tight league with no stand out team

We are 3 points from 11th and 3 points from 2nd.

Yes it's very tight, but why focus on how close we are to 11th when we can look at how close we are to 2nd?
Away form tells us we lose to Wycombe then we will be around 11th I think is what people are getting at

If you want to be so glass half empty that's up to you.

I'm looking at the table and seeing us a few points off the autos.

It’s not it’s just being realistic based on the league table. We have to go above 7 teams to get into the automatic spots but only 2 have to go above us for us to drop into 11th.

Some people sound like they think we have an automatic right to be in the autos, due to size of club...

The same thing many of us mock Sunderland for having the exact same attitude.... how’s that working out for them at the moment...?

the dropped points are frustrating, but we are (theoretically) a win away from 2nd place...

Robins out? The football genius that is Grendel of course. He's given Robins a self imposed deadline of 5 games (stated today but it was blatantly a lot less when he shared his thoughts last week) before he calls the mythical taxi.
I don't see anything he says as he is on my 'ignored' list.

No we are not

You knew what I meant... ok if we want to be exact, we are only 3 points off the 2nd placed team.... the point still stands... if people think the season has been a disappointment then they have short memories.

I’d be disappointed if we didn’t make the playoffs, but Robins appears to be the man for the job...

Main worry for me if most people appear to be of the opinion that making the playoffs equals guaranteed promotion... this is far from the case...

To be fair it’s not unexpected.... some dickhead “genuinely feared relegation” a few months ago after one of our defeats... I think we were 5th at the time...

Tottenham are 5th in the prem so far tonight. 10 points off 2nd.

We are 3 points off 2nd....

League positions don’t mean anything at the mo, it’s where we finish

I am grnuinly shocked at the negativity

Everyone knew we prob drop out of playoffs but overall good results for us. Yet 9th in league table is enoughbto make people scared/angry

Plain incredible. I'm called delusional as we are 3 points off autos and in better form than than top 2. Lol

Wycombe are above us in the current form table - we are 9th

Just for you Grendel, as you haven't pointed it out, JCH scored yet again for Bristol Rovers yesterday - from a debatable penalty won after a foul on the sorely missed Agogo, by Rod MacDonald. A true made in Coventry goal?
However, Rovers then went on to lose 2 -1 at home to AFC Wimbledon. Perhaps some Rovers fans are calling for Garner's head after his 100% defeat record?

So getting rid of Bright, Clarke Harris, Willis, Chaplin - freezing out last seasons top scorer is improving the team - wow
And to add to responses made by others regarding the above - Robins didn't "get rid" of Bright - he was here on loan, and someone, presumably at Wolves, thought his game would improve at Wigan, Willis was out of contract and had wanted to leave for some time (this from someone who knew him very well), and has hardly gone on to greater things so far at Sunderland, Chaplin was sold for a profit to a team above us - I expect that wasn't a decision that Robins had any input on, but yes, he did get rid of JCH, and some on here would say that was wrong - but others wouldn't agree. You also didn't include Thomas in your "got rid" list, but again, he wasn't ever going to stay here for another year.

Happy New Year

So we are in the realms of fantasy fair enough
Still in fantasy land, but nearer to reality is that we would "only" need to win by 5 goals at Wycombe, and Ipswich lose by 5 goals for us to go above them, as we would have scored more goals than them.
Interesting that they have only scored 3 more than us - it's certainly our inability to close out games that's hurting us so much. Also interesting that much-lauded Peterborough lost 3 - 0 at home to Doncaster.
