Could the letter, penned by Pete be adapted so it can be sent onto various media agencies, football writers, podcasts and whoever else might be able to speak out or at least raise the profile of what we are looking to do?

If so probably some form of direct social media such as twitter would be best targeting sports journalists

There is zero chance of this happening - the statement would have to be done by someone who specifically is trained and employed in media to do this

Its really about getting the idea out to the wider public that Wasps are being unreasonable. Not sure why it’d need a specialist media person (most are recent grads at local level anyway), but I’m sure we can find someone in the fan base with the skills required.

They have the contacts. So companies trying to promote a statement will employ an individual whose normally a freelance journalist to utilise contacts. There are hundreds of stories out there every die vying for air space

I would suggest it’s best to try and get the statement with the Observer and get an item on it and tag the item targeting sports journalists in the nationals via twitter

Press release on behalf of the Sky Blues Talk on line forum. A forum of 7500 members of which xxxxxxx responded to a members survey and xxxxxxx% confirmed they fully support the statement made on their behalf

We, the representatives of Sky Blues Talk, the oldest and one of the largest online Coventry City FC fan communities, would like to express our disappointment and frustration with all parties involved with Coventry City playing outside of the city that bears their name.

We call upon Wasps RFC to drop any requests the club, or its owners, indemnify them against costs and losses incurred in the state aid case currently being considered by the European Commission. Should the commission decide the Ricoh sale was unlawful this will have been through no fault of CCFC and the size of any likely financial settlement would in reality bankrupt the club we all love so much.

Equally, we call upon Sisu as owners of CCFC to recommit to halting all legal action surrounding the sale of the Ricoh as agreed prior to talks regarding playing home games at the Ricoh for the 19-20 season. The continued legal action is a roadblock to repairing the relationships required to find CCFC a home in Coventry, both temporarily at the Ricoh and if needed in any new stadium which will require support of the city

We need to be back playing our home games in Coventry. Staying away is playing Russian roulette with our future and our existence

We acknowledge that our fan base have different opinions on whether to travel to St Andrews this season and hold no grudge against any fan attending or not attending.

We would like to praise Mark Robins and the squad for continuing the hard job of rebuilding the playing side of the club and turning us into an attractive winning developing team deserving of far more match day support than has happened in Birmingham.

Finally, we plead with the media to help pursue a resolution to the current impasse, enabling us to move back to Coventry without delay

Include the trust in it pal, the point needs to be raised that they no longer represent the fans

Still grinding my gears that we’re not mentioning that the Trust hasn’t (and doesn’t) represent us.

Isn't this the very reason why we’re making the statement?
Least I’m on the right thread this time!! Small progress I know.

what wording are you thinking?

I want us to be a unifying voice. Any words gratefully recurved

I agree, ussskyblue. Saying that the Trust doesn't represent our views is important.

The recent press release by the ‘Sky Blues Trust’ has disappointed many Sky Blues fans and leaves them wondering if the trust can legitimately claim to represent our best interests in an unbiased way

that’s better I think

A couple of points from me. Make sure you put full stops at the end of every sentence/paragraph. You have one some, not all (sorry to be the grammar police).

And seeing all the usernames typed out like that, makes me wonder if we put our real names to it, or put our real names and then in brackets, our usernames. Thoughts everyone?

If there's a positive response to this, I'd be happy to share my real name.

Dont agree with trashing the Trust at all. Will put people on the defensive and make is out to be about them not the club. Once we are established as concerned fans any criticism of the Trust will have more weight. Also there are better ways on improving the trust.

As for usernames, I’m with Hill. They won’t be taken seriously, better to use real names only.

There’s some safety in numbers so I think it’s all or nothing

I mainly put them there to say wow look how many. I have a gramma guy polishing it up and thank you for your comments

305 people have viewed this thread so a number of people have not chosen to say they agree so that’s interesting

Equally no one has said they disagree.

Like non-voters there’s no reason to assume those that stay quiet are a different split to those than don’t unless there’s evidence of it.

It has to be real names, otherwise we like like characters from Grange Hill.

it is still difficult to link most (although not mine- and I don’t care) to specific usernames.
