Got a feeling the roost will be packed with Cov and the rest of the pubs all Birmingham.

Do we reckon Blues will be all over the Digbeth pubs? I think I might head for the pubs out the other side of New street

Blues will be in every pub mate and all of them are gonna be rammed. We’ll be in the Bull Ring Tavern at 10.30am then we usually go down to the Kerryman and walk up to the ground around 2.30.

Is Hennessey's alright? Went to uni with a lad who was bottled in there about a decade or so ago and he had to have plastic surgery and won a fair amount of £££ in a settlement, so always automatically assumed it was a dive without ever actually venturing in.

Hennessys is a decent pub, don’t be put off cos of what happened to your pal. That happens everywhere.

with the Irish centre shut and the Crown getting refurbed it's going to get very busy in the pubs on the main road.
Might stick to town tomorrow.

Same when we’re at home, given how packed it gets Blues fans will go earlier to make sure they get in

Planning to get there at 11.30, so if it's already full by then it will be a major headache.

What about the Cricketers? That's away fan friendly for Blues games so should be OK tomorrow?

Still think there will be more Coventry fans there as it's the only pub accepting Coventry supporters.

I'm staying clear though.

I think most Cov are going to be around the City Centre. As a few have said, it only takes a few nobheads to start.

A better bet but the problem is everyone knows all the pubs will be rammed so everyone will go that bit earlier.

It’s pot luck in a way

We’re getting in at 11 - a lot earlier than usual. However all of my usual haunts from various Digbeth ale trail don’t open until 12.

Any recommendations for places open at 11, welcoming to Cov fans and serve good beers? We’re due in DigBrew around 12:30, so needs to be that way.

The Kerryman is on route but based on a few earlier posts might not be ideal?

The Kerryman is no better or worse than any of the others.

One place that very few Blues fans use on match day is the All Bar One at New St station. Nice place, bit more expensive than Digbeth with a taxi rank round the corner.

I’d stay in city centre if it was me. Tons of pubs which will be far less packed. Just google.

I agree there’s loads of good ale bars in the centre, but we’re meeting in DigBrew at 12:30 so needs to be that way.

I’ll keep looking, it’s just a shame our usual ones don’t open until 12!

Brother-in-laws birthday on Sunday so we're off out for dinner, but we always stay at the Jacobean when we're in Cov. Just me, the missus and my wee Chihuahua if anyone fancies a quick pint!

My son works there part time mate but he'll probably be in a gutter in Digbeth tomorrow evening!
Enjoy your weekend back in the holy city H!

I've just sent emails to the Woodman, Digbeth Dining Club, Digbrew, the Spotted Dog and Dead Wax Digbeth (which I am assuming is the renovated Wagon & Horses) RE their stance for Cov & Blues fans. Will let everyone know if I hear back from any of them.

The Woodman is the CCLSC (London Supporters) Brum pub (as well as sticking with the Gatehouse in Cov).

I spoke with the landlord this week and no restrictions – WMP aren’t so bothered about pubs that far out.

It’s a Blues pub and apparently the regulars are looking forward to meeting us squatters

It’ll be busier than usual

Also, you might want to check out the Eagle and Tun further down New Canal Street. (Easy to spot... apart from the old Curzon Streen station building and the Woodman, it’s the only building still standing round there.)

It’s a bit of a dive but def. worth the experience and the landlord is a right character. Might want to stick to kegs rather than the pumps
