Still another year really. Literally nothing changes this Friday except we become rule takers and not rule makers for a bit.
I expect it will be used to peddle more nonsense about 'project fear'.

As opposed to “project prick” which Brexit appears to be. Anyone that supports what people like Mark Francois, Michael Gove, Boris Johnson, Jacob Rees Mogg, Matt Hancock etc do is clearly living in a different universe to the one I live in, where the government are supposed to do things that are for the benefit of the population

Come on, they really do want the best for those at the bottom.

LOL “I’m removing your rights and making you poorer! Bants!”

And people say the right can’t do comedy ;)
I think he deleted a post?

Brexit comes down to racism, whichever way you slice it the UK has a major racism problem, from top to bottom. The rest of it is a sideshow, ultimately the desire to boot out "johnny foreigner" & get rid of all the black and brown people is at the root of it. The right preyed on the innate racism & cretinous view that we need to be an "Empire" again and took full advantage, and thats the size of it. If thats something worthy of having a bit of 'banter' about then great, knock yourself out, I'll leave 'em to it.

No it doesn’t. There’s loads of reasons for Brexit. Half the country aren’t massive racists. That’s ridiculous.

Not long to go folks! Whats everyone doing for the special day tomorrow then?

What's the first thing you'll do with your new found freedom on Saturday morning? Do tell.

Not everyone who voted Brexit is a racist, but every racist voted for Brexit.

What a load of absolute shite, one of the most pathetic statements I've seen in a long time

Touched a nerve clearly. It’s true. And if you can’t see or won’t acknowledge it then you really are stupid. Look at the statistics, look at the facts, it’s everywhere. But I’ll leave you to make a few jokes about it, maybe you can go to Dover and join the vigilante groups looking for a few brown people in a dinghy, or even better go read about the many people who’ve been in the country for 30 yrs, some for all their lives who are now being booted out as they don’t meet the ‘settlement criteria’.

Yep. When you have the future PM and Nigel Farage getting millions of people vote for them all off the back of ‘immigration’, it’s not hard to understand the true nature of those people.

Do you think anything short of open borders is racism?

If so that’s a ridiculously niche position, if not what’s the exact line that believing in borders becomes racism?

Trump ~ Johnson cut from the same cloth. Playing the immigration card. In the US, if you play it to rural areas, you don’t even need inner city votes.

There’s no such thing as quiet racists anymore...it’s not a fucking coincidence either.
Spot on. We are living in a time where the hard right are on the rise, and too many idiots can’t see it.

If you think the number one issue for Trump or Johnson voters is racism you’ll never win them back. I know a lot of Brexit voters, some have racist views, it’s not the number one issue for any of them. It’s more a despair at an economy that seems to have written them off and a political class that treats them like they don’t matter.

Stop talking nonsense. Racism is nothing to do with imaginary borders. It’s about people seeing non white people as inferior, seeing them as undeserving of being here, it’s a state of mind. And millions of people in this country (and USA I suspect) have racist views. Brexit was a campaign based on playing to those views and built a case for ‘taking back control’, racist views used to be socially unacceptable but now, you can openly slate non white people and you’ll get people bang on about “ protecting free speech” to justify it. You should ask anyone non white if they think there is a racism problem, or even anyone non English who’s currently getting letters telling them they can’t stay in the country. You need to open your eyes, nobody is calling you personally racist, but there is a serious racism problem in this country, fuelled by a rampant right wing resurgence.

There are variables that you’re ignoring.

A lot of people are thick.

A lot of people don’t think free will exists.

A lot trade common sense to follow ‘their’ party line.

Racism by association is a thing

pretty offensive and exactly the type of attitude why the remain side has struggled to win the argument (pre and post referendum)

won't say any more as it’s been discussed a million times on this thread (and elsewhere)

That’s rubbish- they think that Boris Johnson & co are going to treat them really well? Lol, yeah right. They already removed workers rights, it ain’t gonna affect me but it’s already happening around you.
I don’t buy any of that, most Brexit voters voted that way because of their views on race and how they see the people of “Great Britain” in relation to other nationalities and races.

offensive to you because you don’t want to believe it and the truth hurts, it’s true and you find it hard to accept. Look at the stats, the facts.
The reason the remain side lost is that more people have racist undertones than people who don’t. And that’s the bottom line.

You’ve gone all over the place here.

You said Brexit was down to immigration (I am open to that as an explanation) and therefore it’s proof Brexiters are racist.

This implies you think anyone who thinks there’s too much immigration from the mostly white EU is a racist, which you define as dislike of non-white people. It doesn’t even make sense on your terms.

By the way I’m a Remainer.

You need to be more coherent.

England (not so much the others in the U.K.) has a significant, and worsening racism problem. To deny betrays a massive ignorance of what is going on around you.

If the UK and US didn’t supply terrorists ammo to ply their dirty fucking work, there’d be less of an ‘immigration problem’ to discuss
These are the things people ignore, it washes over them while they count the minutes until we can be “Great Britain”’ again and really get to work booting foreigners out.

You’re following me around again. And what a lucid statement. How much rent are you gonna charge me for that space in your head I’m occupying :)

I really wouldn’t flatter yourself

Border control and immigration restrictions are not solely the bastions of the right

I suggest you look at old footage of Tony Benn debating with Roy Jenkins in I think an interview chaired by Robin Day. The debate was in the EU and Benn pretty much on immigration was saying the same as Farage. He and Foot were massively opposed to Europe as - if they really admitted it - are McDonnell and Corbyn. As an actual political belief real hard line socialists oppose the idea of a capitalist federal state oddly enough
