TBF you’ve been saying “its one game doesn’t mean anything” for three or four games now.

If we are attacking the game in the last half hour I’d like to see Giles given a go.
And whata happened in last 4 games?

3 wins and a draw

No issue with him coming on for half hour. Jist not expecting him to start

Hes not playing badly. Its a myth. Had 1 bad game aa has done well again since

If giles is better i am sure mr will put him in, i dont see it happening vs sunderland tho

I’m not so sure. He started the season first choice and is now third choice to two loanees. Robins didn’t have to bring in Giles really if he thought Mason was ample enough cover

I think the change in formation didn't help him and he brought in Giles because he felt he'd offer more as a WB option.

Hopefully MR has told Mason to concentrate on improving his attacking side of the game for this season in U23 and over the summer and he'll be given the chance to reclaim the spot.

I hope so because he's got potential and his early performances this season would be a shame for him not to be given that opportunity.

McCallum defended well last night, and Robins still thinks he’s playing well.

Giles’ run and cross in his cameo showed he has something to offer. However, he is not ready to start against Sunderland, one of the best in the division.

He’ll get chances in the remaining 12 games.

Giles looks like he has what McCallum lacks - end product, didn’t he come for Shrewsbury and change the game for them against us he looks blistering also.Would I drop him into such a big game Sunday ? I’m not so sure was the right call to bring him on yesterday as McCallum was getting the ball in aches of space but couldn’t deliver the quality balls in Giles beat his man twice & delivered both times the lad looks quality.

McCallum let no one down defensively but the last cross when rose put him clean through was symptomatic of his attacking threat. Right midfield for Sunderland their best player so a big call. I think mccallum will start but Giles will get longer

I think McCallum is a known quantity defensively. That's why he'll start against Sunderland. He's obviously trusted (and rightly so over the course of the season). I think Giles will start to feature more as the season goes on though.

Giles was a curious signing
Robins said earlier on deadline day that no one was coming in
Then late in the day Giles was announced
Was he scouted or was he offered late in the day and we took a punt?
Not sure how it will work out but hope for the best for the lad

He only had one involvement which was an unchallenged dribble to the byline and a cross that didn’t clear the first man. Not sure what people have seen to suggest “he looks quality”.
He assisted shrewsburys winner against us in December. Does that count?

Yeah this is pretty fair. He did 2 things I noted, once beat a man with pace and put a ball in and the second ushered the ball out for a goal kick under pressure from a striker, and while both were positive, I don’t really know why that’s enough to warrant dropping a very consistent left back, who has got his move to a premier league club. You could tell from the moment McCallum was off people would start to turn though, it’s the same as what happened with Maddison. Not our player anymore so ‘they’re thinking about next season, they don’t care’.

This is nonsense. People have been saying McCallum has been weaker since before his move. People just invented this meme to have another stick to beat fans with.

Yeah likewise. He may well be the best player at the club I just don’t think people have seen enough of him to claim “he’s quality” and worth dropping McCallum for who has been part of an absolutely rock solid defence.

I agree Giles' loan seems strange, as we got McCallum back and he hasn't had much game time.

I wonder if the plan is to get his used to us with the view to a season loan next year. Wolves obviously have high hopes for him, so want him to play in the Chamionship next year, with a few run outs in League One this year as a stepping stone.

If that was the plan, the loan makes sense.

Did i read that he could also play further up the pitch? If so, a versatile player could be useful for the rest of the season.

Why would Wolves send him here and not Shrewsbury without confirmation from Robins that he would be playing regularly here?

Exactly what i was thinkinh

His speed to get to byline was very exciting but the dinked cross was sailing into keepers arms at near post till defender put it out for corner

Only change I'd make would be giles for sam
Can only say in response that in Robins' extended interview on the club website he spent quite a bit of time eulogising about how Sam had played against Rotherham
Can't see him making a change there unless McCallum picks up a knock

It's rare but Robins has his favourites McCallum certainly qualifies as one of them. He'll only drop him unless it's absolutely necessary.

He defended very well, how can people judge Giles based on one dribble? Unbelievably short-sighted.

There was a case for Southend or Bolton to start him, not for Sunderland.

From reports of his performances else were (are we allowed to us those?) He is reported to be very good going forward. McCallum should start against the tramps on Sunday but Giles is a very good player.

Does or has Sam become less adventurous, offensively re output.
Has hesitancy crept into his games ?
Is there a relevant measure of this anywhere.
Sure Robins has one.
