What a prick that guy is.

He obviously missed thisL

"The whole of the EU has started a major ventilator drive and will relocate resources to each member state as their situation peaks. They have generously decided to count the UK as a member state for this project despite our 'do-nothing' policy."

I genuinely don’t believe the figures from China

China has entirely blockaded the outbreak region and is locking down for months. Many think the virus will explode when the bans there are lifted

Yes saw that today- said on the news that Ireland is gearing up as it produces 50% of the world supply.

Chinese media is now saying that it was some kind of biological weapon made in USA and was only discovered in China, the world has gone completely nuts.

I wonder how many knew what a Pangolin was until a few days ago.

i guess thats just China trying to blame somebody else, what they should do is take responsibility and shut them things down

Neither. I have a number of clients who work in the freight forwarding sector and are out there quite a bit (until recently obviously). Just from speaking to their contacts out there they have all said the figures are far far higher than what are being reported.

The half arsed measures to make it look like the government (and Presidency) are doing something is fucking cringeworthy.

Shutting bars and restaurants but quite happy for thousands of people to shop in huge malls and continue to work in factories, office buildings and other businesses, literally like there’s nothing happening.

Do us all a favour and it down ...or just admit you don’t fucking care.

What realistically can they do though. This is going to be around for some time, if you lck people up for months and months then eventually they are going to get bored and give up, or in the states they are going to need to work to get paid.

This is the reality. Close the shops and close the cafes and pubs and you will close them for good and have economic ruin - oh and still have the virus

It doesn’t make any sense at all though.

I can go to work with thousands of people in an office building and eat lunch in the cafeteria ...but I can’t have a meal in a bar with 50 other people ?

You might as well throw your hands up in the air and say ‘fuckit, business as normal.’

The bar may be non essential for me, but it is for the owner and the staff.

Yes it should be business as normal within reasoned parameters

You're right, no consistency- I saw there was a Stereophonics concert over the weekend, thousands of people in close contact for a couple of hours in a big sweaty closed off room. Based on what we read, thats inviting people to die.

No as hardly any will. The reality is pretty much every expert does acknowledge the virus will infect the majority at some point so you think Ireland are right in locking down but ask again in 6 months when most businesses are bust oh and flights come in and it all happens again

They need to say that this is going to be around and we will be locking up eventually but it can only be done for a limited period or we fuck the economy and more people end up dying as a result. It's likely that a large portion of the population will get this and we need to manage it so the health system can cope. You will be locked up at some point but there is no point doing that yet.

It doesn’t look good though, launching law suits while thousands of people are dying. It's a real tricky situation.

35 have died

I don't think Ireland are right, I don't think they're wrong- nobody knows that.

One thing I would say though is that the lockdown approach is very wearing, the unease is very palpable and uncomfortable.
