The state arent paying any of my wages.
So you know for sure JLR aren't going to apply for the grant?

Dont post anything pro uk on here you'll be baracked beyond belief.just to ensure people get a balanced view on the ventilator situation. Not wanting to a appear a Tory spokesman again ROS... but it also isn’t difficult to find other, more positive articles regarding U.K. ventilator situation (in addition to Dysons order for 10k last week)
Ventilator Challenge UK to start production in Covid-19 fight
F1 team helps to create coronavirus breathing aid
I don’t know whether the above will be sufficient, or arrive in time, or what the governments testing/order criteria was when deciding why to go for some manufacturers and not others (hopefully quality and speed in large numbers rather than cost)
This part of the article may be why they didn’t proceed with G-Tech
‘Gtech could produce around 100 per day within a week or two providing we could find steel fabrication and CNC machining companies to help us make some of the parts."
ie are reliant on others and possibly two weeks until they start production
ps I reduced my time on this thread last week as some of the framing of arguments or stories (government intentionally massaging death causes/figures etc) was getting crazy and to be honest seeing the constant unbalanced negativity isnt healthy. There’s genuine concerns over some of the governments actions/inaction but also a load of absolute nonsense on here

They may do in time but at the moment my wages are covered by my employer. So you know for sure JLR aren't going to apply for the grant?
At the moment yes. We're not a corner shop outfit. So JLR are able to continue paying salaries with little income?

Even if they all had the correct ppe then youd find something else to complain about. Hopefully after this has finished the government will put the nhs top of their priorities. Theres no excuse for then not to have the proper equipment but this is a freak occurrence and I actually think the government are doing a half decent job.lets not pretend itd be any better under labour.Holding the government to account for lack of ventilators and PPE is pro UK.
Making excuses for incompetence of a few Etonians isn't.
Multi millionaire footballers v factory workers. Good comparison. That well known corner shop outfit Juventus have had to ask their players to go without pay for a few months

Yes I can. Like I said,we're due back on the 20th April. If we're not allowed back to work then I imagine they might turn to the government for help. The last time our company asked for financial support back in 2008 the labour party told us to fuck off.No company can manage on little or no income for months on end. Can you even accept that?

Struggling? This has put a spanner in the works but between the 2 build halls they're still knocking out 70 cars an hour. Admittedly 1 build hall is only on 2 shifts while the other is on 3.
Niall Ferguson has said he thi is the rate of infection in the is slowing but will only be able to back it up with decent data once we up our testing but potentially good news.
It’s a meat eaters virus. Could happen anytime, anyplace as long as humans produce and eat meat.It is the chinese virus. What he said is correct. The dirty fuckers have wrecked the world as we know it.

What choice do they have. There wouldn’t be any members of office staff who earn as little as £2,500 a month
Lol wish I could earn as little as that

Im not being flippant. Someone I knew was a analyst two levels below a manager was on £55k - an average would be £45k - it would just about cover a new graduates wage in the office
Seen a comment from Dom saying they are seeing it slow down in the UK due to lockdown etc this is why it makes me question has it been a “lockdown” in ItalyThe lockdown here is stricter than there and the 40k fines were from 2 weeks ago before tighter restrictions were brought in.
There are more people out and about in the UK by the looks of it due to the rules not being as strict. The way people are going out and walking there wouldn’t be allowed here and you’d be liable to a €3,000 fine.
Is the UK testing people as much as here? My sister is now recovering from it and her husband had it but they haven’t and won’t be tested, so that could well be a reason.
I’m not sure why you’re looking at the deaths to see if the lockdown is having an impact anyway, surely the new cases is more relevant?
That number is stable and I think improving; the peak is estimated to be one week away, which is good news.
As I’ve said before as well, those who died with Coronavirus are included in the figures, they did not necessarily die from Coronavirus.
What's weird? Having a different opinion? I'm not defending anybody you just blindly hate the Tories. Everything else I agree with. They were warned about lack of ventilators in 2016.But ignored the warnings
We have 6 ICU beds per 100000, Germany have 29.
Overall capacity in the NHS has been slashed since they put that private health care guy in charge of NHS England.
That's down to poor government. Nothing to do with Labour, nothing to do with the current crisis. Why does a working man feel the need to defend them, it's weird.
As for the government's handling of the crisis I would agree they're not doing too bad and have said so but that doesn't excuse the other stuff I've mentioned.
Without extensive testing how can they be sure it is slowing down? As I said, if you have the symptoms here you will be tested if you want to be.Seen a comment from Dom saying they are seeing it slow down in the UK due to lockdown etc this is why it makes me question has it been a “lockdown” in Italy
In Spain.
G wipes his bot bot with twenties. Pass it on.
Maybe maybe not. But the lads on the lines build at least 6 months in advance. The cars are all for customers. We've plenty of work unless everyone has cancelled there orders. They'll be struggling with cash flow and I think the car market is going to take a long time to recover.
Did the government not say 'up to' £2.5 k a month meaning that they could still provide these guys with something rather than nothing, even if it were equivalent to a mahoosive pay drop?

I think he said the rate had slowed but he number of deaths will lag far Behind but yes I get your point regarding the testing mate, hoping Italy numbers fall again today.Without extensive testing how can they be sure it is slowing down? The lockdown here has been far stricter than the one there.
