Worst bit is they to gave forgotten they can only police the law and verbal guidance is not the law. They can only stick to the bill as passed on Thursday

Didnt astute say he’d been tipped off we’d have road blocks by now?

Never liked the term 'better' themselves in terms of spending money to keep up with the Jones or trying to make other people as vacuous as themselves envious.

For me 'bettering' yourself is via learning, reading etc or contributing back more to society. Not buying a new car or kitchen to show off

I actually with Grendel here, maybe I am infected. I don’t judge anyone, who cares what people want to spend their money on?
Getting a new kitchen isn't bettering yourself

I don’t get this. What’s all the resentment all about- some people see wealth as status, some see learning, wisdom, knowledge etc as status- but everyone is gonna get fucked over by the virus and it’s nobody’s fault.

Well yes - my first property was a tiny flat - my current one is about 5 times bigger and my next one (when this crises ends) well is planned to have average to support livery rentals- of course it is or why does anyone do it and not just save up for the next pandemic?
I've heard they are going to turn your current one into a 4,000 bed Coronavirus hospital.

Seems people who changed jobs after the 28th of Feb are not entitled to the 80% furlough payments. That's a big government fuck up that needs sorting
Sorry for quoting myself how hard would it be to have look at the 31st of March's payroll as well

Ok so my neighbour owns his own engineering company, a small one man operation who makes precision equipment etc for large manufacturers, mainly pharma companies. He can undercut on small volumes/ high mix and knows people, old pals and stuff in order to get work.

Anyway, I just got this text:

“I've got a job tomorrow morning to make some parts for a packaging machine for Gilead. They are packaging viles of a very early potential vaccine for covid 19. It hasn't been approved by the FDA yet at all but they can use it now if a patient is going end of life with no hope at all of recovery. 4000 viles shipped out to Italy yesterday”

don’t blame me for the spelling :)

So I am wrong for not wasting money?

France is a totally different place. Their number plates don't say how old or new the car is. They don't go into debt constantly to have a new car. Old cars hold their value as there isn't an over supply of used cars. The wife's car now has French plates. It is now worth about 5k in France. The same 1.8k I paid would only get you an old banger there.

So you think it is good that millions of people constantly struggle to buy new things that are mainly imported here? We have a strange mentality in the UK.

Yes we do, it’s shit. But I know exactly what Grendel means too. Not sure what the issue is, different people want different things. And before anyone throws accusations my way, my house is average, I love it and don’t feel the need for anything else. But I don’t see an issue in people wanting more if they have the cash? Each to their own, they have to take the financial risk on, it’s not freeloading.

As I said above in a money no object world I'd love to design my own house. I'd buy a new(er) car but not some flash sports thing. Take a few more holidays. But I'd mostly enjoy spending it on my family, letting them do things they'd always wanted to as treats.

I wouldn’t give a toss about houses and cars, I’d be off around the world doing it on the cheap. Including China :)

Change of subject slightly just been reading about the 5g conspiracies etc dodgy as fook
There is no conspiracy theory or debate about 5G, it’s dangerous. The motives are what the conspiracy theories are about

right now Facebook are deleting/ censoring negative comments about 5G, you have to wonder why

Yeah, next thing you know they’ll be telling us that there will be a worldwide disease that locks down most of the planet all because of some dodgy meat- proper tinfoil hat stuff

Yep but viruses definitely can live in UHF and above , quite the opposite , but high frequency can melt your bollocks

What's the mood in Hungary after the stunt Orban pulled mate?
His supporters would follow him like lemmings over a cliff.
He's basically controlled all the mainstream media since he won his 1st election (which gave him a big enough majority to change the constitution). Nearly all independent papers and radio stations had their licences removed or reallocated.
Tax authorities used as a govt form of coercion (already been on the end of that personally).
People won't have certain conversations over open phone lines, popular social media monitored by an army of supporters.
He's loaded the courts with people he wants (generally lawyers not bright enough to make a living as lawyers). No longer an independent judiciary here.
Made himself in control of EU subsidy money. Some 25% of it goes to a group of 10 friends and family members.
Controls most of the local authorities outside Budapest.
Orbán a Huge Putin fan. Sees him as a role model.
So giving himself unlimited power comes as no surprise. Expect a lot of shenanigans to go on under the radar whilst the focus is on coronavirus.
EU won't take him on as Hungary a key transit route and he could take Hungary out of EU if he wanted to.
Hungary already was rated as an authoritarian regime - this just nails it even further.
So if I suddenly stop posting you can guess what's happened :) hope Nick's database is secure.
So a genuine nervousness amongst many who know there's nothing they can do to reverse this situation.
