No one is touching the NHS after this.
On the contrary, from what I’ve witnessed in this Country’s politics and the way people respond
To it in recent times I think the opposite is true, if a strong movement in Goverment made a solid
play for some form of privatisation of the NHS ‘galvanised with the full support of the Right wing
press/MSM, a significant number of the population would be clamouring for it.
Seems crazy I know ‘but you only have to look at Brexit to see how it’s done.

I bet quite a lot of people are. I'm type 2 diabetic. There's pretty much nothing wrong with me these days on a day to day basis (although still medicated at the moment), but if I was unlucky with this I'd be classed as having an underlying issue. The mortality rate for those with diabetes is quite scary too.

When my work started sending people with underlying health issues home they only sent type 1 diabetics so I assumed type 2 didn't present too much of an issue

Send somebody else's military in then.

Let's face it, if it did come from an animal market it has the potential to kill much more than an air strike.
It actually wouldn't surprise me if there was a war against China after all this is done. It would literally be the world against Wuhan!

The EU is some intangible *foreign* thing. The NHS is what just saved your nans life. The two aren’t comparable.

I know there’s this meme that the right wing press have magic mind control powers but in reality they just play to people’s base interests that already exist.

There’s never going to be a war against China. And if there was they’d have two of the top three militaries on their side and control shit like telecoms and nuclear power stations in our countries.

Like it or not they can do what they want in part thanks to our government kissing their ass for the last ten years.

I thought this war with China rhetoric was some sort of April fools joke. People weren't serious were they?

Of course they can do what they want. Ask the Uighurs. No-one has batted an eyelid.
People keep making them richer by buying products made in working conditions that would be illegal and scandalous in the EU etc.
But let's point at nearly every govt in the world not just the UK one when it comes to bending over

It is every country, though this brand of Tories have been particular China fans. George Osborne especially. Even Trump knew not to get the Chinese to build your key infrastructure.

The only reason for a conflict ever possible with China would be against the spratley islands and even then almost impossible, UK and China have good relations and have had for a number of decades , this will not change

Correct. Absolute madness to suggest this will damage relationships.
Once this is over it will be business as usual. In fact, given the kick in the economy is taking I'd imagine we'll be trying to cement further trade with them as will other economies.

If there was to be a chasm,I'd expect to come between Europe and USA , should Trump harden further on trading relations between the two.
I don't see that EU is likely to take any adverse steps re China, the opposite in fact.

We can't fall out with China, too many of us have those gold coloured, handwaving cats in our windows.

IDS has been talking about repercussions for China, presumably in his fantasy land he thinks the country should get the gunboats out.
The caveat to that is if it does turn out China has been misleading the world over its fatalities then there will be a limited backlash.
Many countries based their strategies on data China provided - if that data was falsified then some countries will find it hard to convince people to trade with China in the short-term.

Whatever China said no way other governments didn't have a more accurate handle on the true figures

All these countries are into each others business more than ever now with the availability of digital espionage. Inconceivable to think China's data was taken at face value

Main issue with the NHS (apart from the poor funding) is the Trusts being set up individually from an admin point of view
Not using joint purchasing power, suppliers , Payroll, Finance etc

Looking on the web there are companies trying to bring that together eg
The Edge4Health ™ | The Edge

but we have all heard of stories of some trusts paying a fortune for loo rolls or light bulbs etc
This needs to be sorted, so the NHS can focus on what they are the best at

I think it’s beyond any doubt that they have misled the world but unfortunately there’s not going to be much of a backlash against them, even though I think there definitely should be.

Seen this morning that doctors in New York were given rain ponchos as PPE.
These populists are definitely in a competition to see just how far they can go and still get away with it there's no other explanation.
Seen as Organ has now turned Hungary into a dictatorship I'd say he wins.
Even Durterte holds elections.
