That was the view of the chief medical officer .

Maybe if the FO had developed a policy that advised against frivolous travel abroad there wouldn't have been that need?

Bit of a problem with that is that there's still loads of people stuck abroad under lockdown. If you want to bring people home you charter flights to bring them home under special measures. Meanwhile you can still close the borders. How come people believe this horseshit with just a small amount of common sense and rational thinking tells you it's not true.
