Can't blame him at this stage of his career, They offered 2 years we offered 1.

Happy with that if it is true and he gets replaced. We can't afford to have passengers anymore as our squad is too small.

Chief Commentator!
Reunited with Boothroyd? Sounds familiar! Shame, as I think he could have done a job, especially in coaching the younger players if he's not playing!

Similar to when we lost Adebola a few years back as we insisted on only offering a 1 yr deal!

We don't have room for players that can only play 1 game a week. Add onto this a player that is a striker that will never give you 10 goals a season.

For the money we were paying him we should be able to get a striker that can score goals in Div3 and play most games.

awaits headlines tomorrow :

CET : "Thorn dissapointed in Platt departure, but targets remain in sight"

CCFC.co.uk : "Contract talks with Paul Tibbs, CCFC under 11's captain is going well"

Ady seems impressed with his goals / game record.

"He is very experienced, he is a leader on and off the pitch, he has a fantastic attitude and anyone who can score more than 100 goals and play more than 600 games is someone to respect."

Did Aidy sign ROD ?, perhaps he could be of there was well

The truth is if we had kept platt it would show the limit of our ambition. He has signed for a struggling league 2 club. A player with commendable attitude but poor use of his physique and a very poor finisher.

He was offered a new contract and he has chosen to join Northampton which even shows our limit of ambition even more so.

Still good as long as he is replaced though.

EXACTLY !!!

On teh smae day that clarke "pledges to stay with the sky blues" because he has seem Aidys targets, platt, who lets face it, would have started most games next season, leaves us to go to Northampton !!!

If it's 'cos he was hanging on for a 2 year deal, then he was never going to stay. No chance he was ever going to get that here. If we'd offered a 1 year deal in reasonable terms I would have thought that would be more tempting than a L2 2 year contract. But we are possibly in a worse state financially than The Cobblers now!

Platt out.
Eastwood out.
King out.
Juxey out.
RoD out.

Who needs strikers anyway? And who's left to play alongside Cody in training games?

Oh no you didn't! I've been tolling that particularly doom-laden bell for a good 10 months now!

This is becoming embarrassing... Platt could have done a job in league 1. Opting for Northampton Shows theres plenty of uncertainty behind the scenes.

Longer this transfer embargo carries on the less chance we have of getting any decent replacements.

Even more worrying times

Development Director Steve Waggott said: "Andy Thorn expressed his intention to Clive that he wanted him to remain at the club but ultimately there was disparity on the length of contract the player wanted and what the club was prepared to offer."

"I'm sure I speak for the manager when we wish Clive the best of luck at Sixfields."

"As we can offer no guarantees whatsoever that CCFC will be an ongoing concern by 2013, we couldn't in all honesty offer him a 2 year deal".

What a shame top player.

Dont blame him 2 years or 1 year with a club that may fold in the next year. Also we probably said to him here is the contract offer but it is on the provision that we get a budget so put your life on hold and turn down other opportunities whilst you wait.

Only positive I think he would have been only able to play 1 in 3 or the last 20 or 30 mins of matches so not as bad as if cody goes.

He has to be replaced though. I make 9 replacements we need now.

4 loaness and 5 free transfers

So that would require a "Bang bang bang bang, Bang bang bang bang bang" strategy, then?

Average finisher but awesome use of his physique, otherwise no one on here would have rated him. He played to his strengths

When he played we retained possession and took the pressure off. He owuld hold it cause Carnage and play it well.

I normally hate the big target man thing but seeing the difference of a coventry team when he played to when he did not. I know think to survive this division we need a younger version of him
