Rumours that tomorrow’s meeting is now on Tuesday....

on top of that a few more teams apparently want to play the season out now. But it’s apparently only 8 teams.

that stupid extended team play off is still on the table to be discussed

Unfortunately, we're most likely not going to have the luxuary of playing a whole season to see who ends up where, so a decision has to be made on how it finishes without a ball being kicked.

I'm not saying you have mentioned a mini-tournament kg and apologies if you thought that ... but some of the chairmen of these clubs, we know who they are, have. It's ironic they go on about integrity of the competiton, but would support an "innovative solution" to get themselves included in any play offs. If the PPG weighted/unweighted formula allowed Posh to get into the play offs, I wonder if their Chairman would suddenly have a flash of integrity.

That’s the thing though, they use use weighted ppg and Peterborough are in. They use non-weighted and they’re out. So using a similar method has 2 different results. That’s why I understand his argument. 6 team play off would be 5 games instead of 3 and wouldn’t change our position. Like I’ve already said though, I think the league will stick to the same formula as L2.

I suggest everyone takes a look at Brylowes Covid 19 logo. It really makes you think whether Conservative government planned this all along.

Back to sorting out football leagues....
Personally always been in favour of what is now called weighted Points Per Game that takes in home and away records.
However I can see some merit in having Five teams involved in Play-offs in League one if they take place. Have an extra round with Portsmouth and Peterborough playing off to reach the final 4. Those are the teams that would lose out if a different PPG system is picked.

This principal could be used to solve a similar issue with Bournemouth and West Ham for relegation in Premier.

I've included by Tableau calculation from 3 weeks back to illustrate the situation. , PPGha is the same as weighted PPG.

I suggest that if playing games behind close doors ends up being judged impractical / dangerous, then promotion is based just on top 2 to avoid Oxford and Wycombe arguing over 3rd spot based on PPG formula used.

Playoffs are fine, if it is feasible to do so, but talk of going all the way down to say 11th place is just nonsensical.

Where do you draw the line? Should be as it always has been. 3rd to 6th place.

If you start saying, well let's make it top 8, you then get, well why not make it top 10, top 11, top 12.

I personally don’t think they’re going to opt for the extended play-offs. They need to be seen to be as consistent as possible with regards to how L1 and L2 are finished. If they give in to demands about teams as low as 11th getting a chance at achieving promotion, it could cause the EFL issues from disgruntled clubs not only in our league but in L2 as well.

I’m sure this will go to ppg but if not and we have to play the season out doesn’t bother me in the slightest, we will be going into these games with the best squad by a long way, fully fit and raring to go and get the job done, ten matches left and needing to win half. Teams won’t be relishing playing us, Peterborough, Oxford and Wycombe have to beat us really, if they don’t they risk letting others in, with that in mind surely Oxford, Fleetwood,Wycombe and Portsmouth will go ppg or risk missing out on top six altogether.

You can guarantee that if Sunderland and Ipswich were in the play off places then there wouldn't be any talk of this "mini play off tournament". Should just be the play off places as they stand now. All others miss out.

Sporting integrity, my arse.

Or if the weighted PPG was going to be used then the twat from Peterborough wouldn't be kicking off as they would be in the playoffs

Apparently the number of teams wanting to resume the season has risen to 9.

From reading a few different press. Teams are happy to play if its safe and makes financial sense. Other wise they are not.

Its all over the place at the moment. EFL need to get a grip and stop letting people use Sporting integrity as a way to push their own views.

Getting pissed off with this now. EFL are caving into pricks like McAnthony. Precedents been set with league 2, if you dont want clubs going to the wall then show some balls

Interesting its claimed the rebel 6 want to play it out. I would hazard a guess that 2 of them teams would drop out if it was a 4 way play offs.

Other teams are Bristol, Gillingham and Maybe Lincoln.

This is all rumour based mind you, As no one has a clue even when the meeting is. Some saying today, Some tomorrow.

What would they do if a club, say Accrington, simply refuse to play? Or if more than one club refused? Awarding points to opposition would scarcely preserve sporting integrity.

Showing balls would have been to get the funding in place and make every effort for football to be played. Calling a football chairman trying to get games on a prick is like being in the twilight zone

A lot of the swing voters are claiming that they'll go with the flow and vote with whatever appears to be the most popular decision during the meeting. At the minute that gives us the advantage but the vote is certainly going to be tight.

Thats the issue. I cant see the EFL approving carry on playing. As I think more clubs will kick off.

EFL have got them selfs in a mess.

Not a lot because if a football club cannot afford to play, and has expressed their financial concerns prior to the decision of resuming to play, then what action can be taken?

To be fair, I think we'd be OK with whatever scenario comes out on top. End it now; we go up. Play on: we go up.

If his club were top he’d be a lot less enthusiastic

The faster this gets resolved the better before it gets out of hand - they will be back to null and void if we are not too careful - fuckers

Can't believe Bristol or Lincoln are interested in continuing (no man's land, with financial costs). Shrewsbury have said they don't want to know, as have Accy Stanley. Southend have binned off half of their squad to save money, and obviously us/Rotherham are happy to sit on our hands. The likes of MK Dons, Blackpool and Burton won't want to carry on. Add in Rochdale and Wimbledon, probably Bolton - so there are as many who don't want to continue as do.
