Or just look into how a black teenager with a small amount of cannabis is treated in States where its illegal compared to a white teenager caught with cocaine.
Or go to the website of the US version of LEAP (law enforcement against prohibition), to see how it works. I can't recall what they're called. I don't think it's LEAP US though.

Yep, USA makes up 5% of the worlds population but has 21% of the worlds prison population.

Some interesting stats re incarceration rates by ethnicity. If black and Hispanic conviction rate was the same as white, the prison population would reduce by 40%.

Even on a lesser scale look how much money and resources our government puts into chasing the minority of unpaid tax compared to the majority of off unpaid tax which comes from a lesser number. In essence the government spends something like 80% of its funding chasing 20% of unpaid tax yet allows large scale tax fraud from a minority of powerful individuals and corporations of the hook.

Chasing up small amounts of benefit fraud etc each taking time and resources which would easily be covered by just one offshore trust or tax avoiding corporation.

In America it could well have an effect - the place is ALL about $$$. Affect a companies balance sheet and they'll want change and lobby for it just as much as anyone and the bigger the company the more weight and influence they have as they provide more jobs etc. So boycott of any large corporation not lobbying for change or shown to be discriminatory to minority communities would have a big effect.

It may be them supporting the cause for financial reasons rather than the reasons they should but if it's effective why not.
