I think there’s two things here. Doms right that starting manufacturing ahead of time is probably a good idea *if that vaccine is showing promise*. Others are right that we have to be careful to pick a winner because of the cost. I’m not sure any of us aside maybe BSB know enough to know if this vaccine shows the right amount of promise in comparison to the 150 others.

Criticism of the Oxford Coronavirus Vaccine
The Oxford one is now at clinical trials on humans, which is around 10,000 people I think. It did not prevent infection after one dose, but they think it might after multiple. Another vaccine seemed to prevent infection but was given in 3 doses and the monkeys were exposed to less of the virus.
