How do you conclude that? The BBC article is clear, it applies this season unless they finish in the relegation zone anyway in which case it applies next.

But the question has to be how can a club 4 weeks after a takeover (and apparently linked to the former owner) end up in admin? The due diligence by the club and/or the EFL ownership test should've flagged that up.

The foot of the championship is equally crazy. Wigan hve 15 point deduction to add which will relegate them. The fight for the other two to stay up is anybodies guess.

Not so the premier league. After today I find it extremely unlikely the current bottom three are getting out of it. So we have 3 very atractive away days at Norwich, Bournemouth and dare I say Villa next season to look forward to. Would love to see O'Hare in our side for that one.

Yep, sorry, you're right - I've just re-read the EFL regulations. If they finish 13 points above the relegation zone it would still be applied this year and would stay up. Would be a bit of a let off.

Think it's probably unlikely they'll stay up anyway to be honest. They're essentially bottom at the moment. It's getting tight though.

Whether we get the usual 6 points off them or mot next season, I;ll be surprised if they don't finish bottom of the pile. Just need a couple of others from the Championship to incur points penalties for next season to give us an extra boost.

They've had a lot of luck. They would have struggled to make the playoffs if the season had finished, Fleetwood gifted them the semifinal and Oxford gifted them the final.

They had the lowest possession and passing stats in the league and scored the majority of their goals from set pieces. I can't believe they'll get away with that in the championship.

The first leg of the semi final was convincing (largely due to the clown in Fleetwood's goal), the second leg was a draw, and they nicked a late winner tonight with a penalty (which was offside in the build-up). Not sure how that is 3 convincing wins!
