Can you explain how Jodi is a victim? I tweeted (granted poorly worded) that I think he’s finished. Let’s be honest mate, he’s not had a pre-season since 2017, it’s his first one back now and he’s injured again. He played his best football over a 3/4 month period in the fourth division. We’re now in the championship and he’s not good enough simple as that.
He needs to go out on loan, get some actual first team football (not I23s), get match fit, score a few goals, stay fit and see how he goes from there. I’ve already stated I hope he proves me wrong because at the end of the day all we all want is to be successful and he can be part of that, fantastic.
In terms of being a victim, he’s picked up let’s say 2/3/4/5k a week for three years for doing nothing? I wish I was a victim of that’s the case.
I’ll name 5 players who have had it a lot worse on here and twitter:
Burge
Baka
Chaplin
Turnbull
Bigi
Where’s the uproar?
No he hasn’t had a pre-season and you make some valid points. If you’d made those originally instead of using the terms like “rotting away” you would have had a more positive conversation from the start. Nobody is criticising you for your opinion, it’s perfectly valid, only your wording.
JJ is a victim in that he didn’t ask for any of this. His injuries are bad luck. In terms of the situation regarding your tweet he is the victim because he has probably picked up his phone and seen a Cov fan claiming he won’t make it back to where he wants to be. Fortunately, he seems to be using it as motivation. But he has had a really rough few years and his mental health would have been under a lot of strain.
He hasn’t been picking up a wage for doing nothing though, has he? He’s picked up a wage for being employed as a professional footballer and undergoing intensive rehab. He was on a contract and essentially “off sick”. Most of us would expect to be paid in that situation.
Your point about other players is entirely separate but my suggestion would be you’ve been either lucky or unlucky, depending on how you view it, in that the twitter algorithms picked up on your tweet and started promoting it to people interested in CCFC, that’s how I saw it, so you have received more attention and responses. Regarding uproar though, there has been plenty on here at least. I was defending Baka just the other day. Somebody slagging him off on twitter might get seen by a few fans one day and end up in a situation like yourself.
