Well let's give an example straight away of the dangerous media.. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...AhAB&usg=AOvVaw1XOCO9wunF3SjC5GwWV-gp&ampcf=1

you seem to be suggesting that it's only media critical of Trump that's dangerous!

i like this site for checking the political affiliations and more important accuracy of news outlets.

So is the argument that being a twat on social media makes him worse than presidents that oversaw thousands of innocent deaths in the middle East?
I wasn't really compiling a league table of presidents. He's doing a bit more than being a twat on social media, that's just an unfiltered window on the man which negates the idea that he's misrepresented by media spin.

You don't think trump ever gets misrepresented by the media?

The media, let's ignite racial tensions... Then let's pay out millions because we were wrong... Damage is done

Jussie smollett, the media spent weeks igniting racial tension... Only to be wrong... Damage is done

Are you seriously saying that Trump & everything he does is all imaginary and has been somehow created by the "mainstream media"?

I think all I'm actually trying to say is, since around 2014 it's been non stop on trump... It was non stop on brexit, its going to be non stop negativity again on trump now...

When wi the media learn that actually Impartiality will probably lead to more sensible voting outcomes.

No absolutely not, I'm saying the media lie, misrepresent, tell half truths, have agendas and in no way represent the people it's supposed to

Trump is a plank and often fails to read the room .. But let's not make out the media haven't swayed public opinion on the man

Which is fascinating, however not really anything to do with the topic at hand though is it.

And the reason the media is that way is because its what people want. That stuff sells, otherwise they'd have to stop.

He does, it's standard for any public figure in the news outside of completely strait-laced fact checking sites. Those sites however show him to be an habitual liar and the biggest misrepresentation he gets is from bootlickers like Tucker Carlson who seemingly have no problem excusing anything he will ever do

It is relevant because the media have helped create the climate America finds itself in.. As has trump of course, but this has been going on longer than trump

Jeez- the guy got shot multiple times and you're blaming the media.... you sound like Trump himself to be honest

I don't particularly like trump, but he was a better choice than hillary... Not saying much.

I dont actually know much about Joe Biden.. So can't comment.

I think Biden will win this election, but many of americas problems will stay... And the media will continue to bait the rest of society into false hate, anger and irrational thinking, because they've got to sell stories.. Scum

This is pointless. The us as a democracy has vastly more police shootings than ant other democratic country

It was no better under Obama and you’d assume a vote for him would have meant a huge slump in this sorts of incidents. It didn’t and if you vote for trump you want their version of law and order

During this debate all I've said is the media are scum and actively help Stoke the fire.

Trump is misrepresented, isn't great but his predecessors did many things worse.

The man who got shot had a warrant out for his arrest for the rape of a minor.... Also liked to smack his wife around, I have no interest in defending him

If that makes me like trump... I'm fine with that

Let's be honest, the US for many years has been fractured... Before Covid the country was economically sound and thriving... His reaction to covid is awful though

Based on letting the rich get richer by reducing failsafes and regulation and letting them get on with whatever they please.

This ALWAYS ends badly when the foundation of sand collapses. And that's not even going into the intangible effects on health and environment because he places no value on anything other than money.

I've said many times before... Black crime in America is high.. The stats back that up. This inevitably leads to more confrontation with police and there is no trust between police and African Americans.

This needs to be the main aim, reducing black crime which is about poverty, education and opportunity... But also about culture(the elephant in the room)

Guns are going nowhere in America anytime soon

Where is it actually ending badly - I and everyone on this forum would be better living there than 90% of the rest of the world

Periods of deregulation inevitably eventually end up in recession or crashes because they build fake little bubbles trying to get that slightly higher return. They always come crashing down eventually.

If we take out language barriers etc if it weren't for the cold, dark winters any of the Scandi countries ta very much.
It's not relevant to if a country progresses or regresses too.

I'm proud, and privileged, to live in this country. There are a number of things we do better than many countries around the world... but that doesn't stop us regressing on occasion, and needing to draw attention to that to progress.

I thought you just said you can't trust the media?

I dont trust the media, I do however trust the court records
Jacob Blake had a long history of entanglement with law enforcement when he lived in Lake County.

Blake's shooting by police in Kenosha on Sunday sparked destructive riots in the Wisconsin city not far from the state border.

Records reveal Blake was arrested in 2013 in Round Lake Beach and criminal trespass to a vehicle and arrested in 2012 in Zion, Ill. for domestic battery, endangering the life and health of a child and driving under the influence.

Blake is currently facing a rape charge in Kenosha.

A warrant was issued for Blake’s arrest on July 7 on felony 3rd degree sexual assault, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass, all related to domestic abuse.

Blake has reportedly been paralyzed from the waist down after being shot eight times on Sunday by police who were answering a domestic abuse call.

The rape charge started circulating on Twitter this afternoon and was confirmed by a search of court records.

Oh, one thing I'm proud of, is we'd give him the right to a fair trial, rather than shooting him in the back seven times before he had that chance to defend himself from accusations.

he will still be able to stand trial - well sit as he can’t walk anymore

The list of countries I'd rather not live in is WAY bigger than the ones I would even in an ideal worl where I'd have no barriers to anywhere I liked.

I think we have a lot to shout about here, but we also have a lot that needs improvement. Over the last few years it's felt like we're going backward not forward chasing an American style vision based solely around money rather than a progressive approach based on a more rounded, holistic approach.
