Brilliant news. It just goes to show that even our most talented players are clearly excited about the direction Robins and the background staff are taking the club in, and as a result want to stay and be a part of that journey for the long haul. Really positive stuff.
This was my exact thought as well.

Delighted to tie down one of our best players!

When the idea of a new deal was put to the defender, he told how there wasn’t a doubt in his mind that he wasn’t going to sign on the dotted line.

“I’m very happy.” Dabo said.
“It feels like it’s been a long time coming because we’ve been speaking about it for a while, but there was no doubt about it ever happening.
“I didn’t have to think twice as soon as I got wind of the new deal potentially being on the table.
“I didn’t go to my agent ‘oh I want to leave’ and my agent didn’t even whisper there was something else it was literally let’s get the deal done and let’s be happy here.”
The togetherness within the Sky Blues camp at the moment is spoken about by all the players in the squad and Dabo echoes those comments.
“It’s not an exaggeration, it’s actually a proper family.
“People tell you off when needed and people will look after you when you need to be looked after and the dressing rooms always happy.
“When we lose it’s very rare that we’re down for long because we come in and speak about it and then get over it and then we’re happy and go again to make sure we can improve on our performance.”
Although he has only been at the club for a year, the defender has settled into the surroundings and his performances on the pitch show that.
Dabo spoke of the support he gets here by the staff and the supporters and why that was one of the key reasons for him signing a new deal.
“Some people say I bleed Sky Blue already!”
“It feels like we’re carrying on again with all the support from the fans, all of the support from the team and all of the support from the staff and like I’ve said before, we’re a proper big family so without that I wouldn’t be happy here.”
Despite the season ending in success for the Sky Blues, Fanky had to sit on the sidelines for the start of pre-season, as he recovered from a hip operation he had during the summer.
But now he’s back and after a first starts last week against QPR, the defender is buzzing to be back out on the pitch doing what he does best.
“I’m tired all the time.” He joked.
“But seriously, I’m just trying catch up with all the boys and get back to match fitness, but it’s a new obstacle and challenge and I’m enjoy it and I’m just happy to be back on the pitch.”

Great news and love reading this.

WOO HOO!

He was contracted to us until 2022 so it's effectively a two year extension and a pay rise for this year and next.

Well worth it though as we either benefit from him or get top dollar if someone comes knocking . I am assuming/hoping there aren't any buyout clauses.

Massive news. With O’Hare and Dabo Terminator Tank Engine, showing the trust and commitment to the club, we are a very attractive club, if you want to play decent football and establish yourself, our club is the place to be.It is always good to hear how the players feels very supported by us and wants to play for us.

I know they always say the right thing in interviews, but you genuinely do get the impression that the players are loving it at the moment. Have loved Dabo since he signed and this is fantastic news. Even if someone comes in with an offer now, it’s going to have to be substantial to prise him away from a four year (effectively) deal.

Yet another sign that the club is being run properly.

The best part is according to the man himself that was the “not up to speed yet” version last week.

We want to see Dabo 2.0 !

Great news. As such a brilliant footballer to watch. Must be due a goal or 4 soon.

amazing how many fans of clubs last week where saying they should sign him and so on. We can put a crazy price tag on him now to keep him.

Great! We know what happened the last time somebody said this! 😩

Transfer window closes in 2 weeks. He's gone 🙄🙄🙄

Seriously, it's a great bit of business and it's obvious on the pitch, Fanky loves to be here. Here's to many more probing runs down the right.... or is that at CDM ? ;)

Who wouldn't want a hefty pay rise....

Further proof that the shyster owners have finally realised it's the product on the pitch that is the most valuable asset we have.
And the management team off it obviously.
I'm an old timer and it's the 1st time for a long time that I'm actually looking forward with hope

Couldn't have done this without SISU backing MR.... the past two years they have proved that lessons have been learned and become responsible owners... just saying.
