Those details were not quite included in the report I saw.
Her apology was just for the toilet visit.

Frankly, as somebody who's job is to (quite rightly) hold government to account and, having done that far more vigorously than many TV channels recently, she has to be whiter than white in her own actions.

It's accentuated by her minimising her apology to one element, and also by her claiming not to know the rules - that's what she keeps challenging government ministers on!

Kay Burley is well known for sticking it on people on Sky for breaking the rules slightly. Poetic justice that exactly the same has happened to her. My second least favourite woman on TV after Priti Patel.

Burley was an idiot, how did she think that would't get out? Wasn't even something minor you could brush off saying you made a mistake. 10 people when the rules are not socialising indoors with anyone you do not live or are in a bubble with. Then she went into another restaurant to use the toilet (oddly the only bit she has apologised for) and then people from at least three different households went back to someones house to continue the party.

Beth Rigby was one of the people involved as well so she's off air for a few months as well.

One for the 'but would you rather live in...' file. Frustrating read, especially when you get to the bit about the places mentioned in the article having a big advantage because they're islands.

I'm half expecting "this is an excuse to start getting rid of a woman who is now getting a bit older" discrimination case to be trotted out at some stage

She's in the wrong job, if she was a politician or SPAD she'd have got a pass

Ooh it's Thursday.
Is it too late for a clap.
Is there any public verbal acknowledgement of the deaths per day anymore.
I mean it's almost been airbrushed away, not a picture of a coffin or funeral anywhere on TV media.
Some fine editorial collaboration between them all .

I sat next to her on a flight to Gibraltar in 1991 she’d just started with Sky I think,Very friendly to chat to.
Both had a g and t not up herself at all.

The abhorrent Kay Burley has been suspended for 6 months for the crime of going to the wrong toilet. Can’t stand her but it’s beyond ridiculous.
A 6 month punishment seems a little excessive. It would far more satisfying to stick her out in the field for 2 months having to report funny anecdotes like the Cheese Toastie that looks like Karl Marx.

Yep a few Facebook groups are mulling it , especially non crucial year's.
See Eton has closed due to an outbreak, but private schools are shut anyway next week onwards .
Slightest sniff of Cov-ID next week in a school and they’ll close... rightly so especially with the impact of self-isolation and Xmas

The second lockdown was only just starting to take effect, going to be well over 100k dead in a year from the first death in the UK. Good chance of 100k (ignoring the 28 day arbitrary cut off) in 2020.

Johnson’s Teflon ability never ceases to amaze me.

Who else in history could oversee 100k deaths of their own citizens, the worst economy response of the G7, then complete failure to even maintain the economy let alone improve it with a Brexit deal, and still have 40% of the electorate slavishly in love with him?

Mind blowing. History is going to look back on this as a period the U.K. lost its mind.

The vaccines that are meant to be coming in behind the current crop like GSK and the UoQ ones are either being delayed or cancelled

Not sure its a huge issue. Better to have decent quality control than push on with vaccines that may not work or have side effects, or as in the case of the UoQ one have a knock on effect in public health due to triggering HIV false positives. We're way ahead of where we were expecting to be in terms of vaccines, to expect every vaccine in development to fly through testing with no issues isn't realistic.

In the case of the UoQ vaccine it won't actually mean there is less doses in circulation as their manufacturer, CSL, will now produce 20 million doses of the Astra vaccine for use in Australia. And GSK are still expecting to be ready to manufacture in 2021.
