Not saying she's in the right. Like Brighton said. They probably should have brought it in with immediate effect.
They should never have released any info about the potential relaxation and especially not weeks before. The responsible line was always avoid travel unless absolutely essential and take the opportunity to do Christmas differently you fucking stupid children.

But this is what he does. It'll be gone by June, I'll be visiting my mother on mother's day etc over promise and under deliver.

Sums it up really. Posting footage while she's queuing for a train moaning that other people are trying to do the same thing.

The entitledment from people thinking things don't apply to them is astonishing.
Even better when you look through her timeline. Videos from Theatre with people crammed in.

Fuck off you silly millennial bitch. 2 foot them all.

Proves my point, silly c**t. Hope the theatre and shopping was nice.

Make the c**t stay in London.

Not that I agree with her heading off to see her elderly mum, but trawling through weeks of her Twitter feed to find examples of her doing Tier 2 stuff as if it proves some kind of point is just weird.

What happened to you in London that made you so upset about the place?

yes because they still make that decision to do it
Go shopping etc? How about people going back to see terminally ill parents, say?

We've got a massive thread about whether fans would be allowed back into grounds. If we were, it's not like everybody would say nope, it's not safe whatever government says and refuse to go.

As fp says, the main issue is deciding on national policy for Christmas so far in advance. Changing that was always going to cause issues.

Interesting thread

Fucking hell. What a bunch of pricks. Yes, Government should take a healthy portion of the blame for over-promising Christmas and so far in advance as well, but stampeding onto a train when you’ve been explicitly told not to travel is selfish in the extreme. As I said a few days ago, we’ve made the decision not to see my grandparent who lives about half a mile away, and yet you’ve got cunts doing 200-mile trips from supposedly the worst affected areas.

It’s always the way they give their guidance. For example ‘international travel should be avoided unless necessary’

What comes under necessary? For some people they will take ‘necessary’ as ‘I’ve paid for this holiday, it’s necessary that I go’. You basically allow people to individually determine if their personal status/situation is worthy of ignoring the guidance... and you get the kind of entitlement you’ve talked about earlier.

Would it be that difficult to say - you can’t travel internationally unless you have permission from the UK embassy to travel.

Shows the issue with relying on personal responsibility which was being discussed earlier today.

We've had the Prime Minister and Chief Medical Officer say there is a new strain that is more infectious and it is vital we don't allow it to spread around the country. The publics response is huge traffic jams and packed train stations. What are the chances of that strain not spreading to the rest of the country now?

The selfish of London have caused mayhem and cramming into trains will certainly have helped spread it all over the country, lockdown post Xmas is coming. He should have announced it and fully locked London down immediately he knew they would run for it and he gave them the chance to do it.

Yes as they still make the decision to do something so can be blamed. End of.

every single decision, except for pre-ordering vaccines, throughout this pandemic has been an absolute calamity delivered without clarity on purpose to allow the government to scapegoat everyone from the scientific community to the general public while all the time extorting billions from the public purse, if you voted for this shower then you're as much to blame.

Tbf I thought they'd got better recently, being more cautious. Pretty sure there was a time they just wouldn't have bothered to change the Christmas rules!

What we need is for them to make a decision, now, to shut down everything for a fortnight after to at least let it all blow out in smallish pockets.

This has put a right downer on things for me. Barely feel like I'm living just scraping by eating to make sure I don't die, going to bed to wake up and not leave the house, just existing with nothing happening and life on pause while precious time disappears. can't be fucked with it all.
Where are you?

It's not really trawling is it? Literally 5-10 seconds.

So if mine and the other half’s plan was to go to her parents house on Christmas Eve and then they were coming to ours on Christmas Day, what additional risk am I exposed to from a health perspective? Daft.
If you are traveling in your own private transport there is no extra risk other than spending a long time in each other’s company indoors and so if one of you is asymptomatic then it is more likely the other three will be infected by the end of two days than one day
