I know all about it, I was working all day and then being a teacher in the evening and weekends...

Hence I would rather have been at work 24/7 than having to be a teacher too.

The remote provision will be better across the board this time and again, some of us do put the effort in to provide a remote education.

Most will be going in other than certain office workers. All manufacturing is now 100% functioning. Supermarkets, shops, transport, take away hospitality and any offices that require office presence including accountants. Also oddly if people are working from home they are not supposed to be supervising children all day but actually working

Good so let me teach normally

My argument is that schools are peak transmitters so if your child’s bubble is compromised there’s a good chance their parents will get it also.

Well no you said people shouldn’t work - but oddly people have to and many have to adapt to the new environment and make changes which I have to say you seem more objecting to than actually going in. Pretty much the whole of Europe are letting children in schools - oddly as if not for a very lengthy period things stop. Do you think pre school nurseries should close as well?

Yeah but then when they ask questions? They say they haven't done this stuff in class so you have to go through it with them?

I feel the pain when teachers have to parent and teach because parents dont give a fuck but that then rubs off on the kids and parents who do give a fuck.

Last time the focus was on the NHS, it was all about nurses etc and a whole lot of different industries were forgotten about who were having to graft as well.

They can ask their teachers in the remote lessons. That’s what we’re here for. Usually spending hours chasing kids for not even logging on never mind not attempting the work.

It’s like being in the twilight zone. This is either a threat or it’s not and schools are a major source of transmission. If people think it’s fine then let me teach normally. If it’s not then go remote and just make sure the kid logs in

You have no idea how entitled and self righteous you sound

What if the child is 9 and one parent is a track worker and the other works at Tesco?

The irony of course being that I have busted a gut to try and deliver a decent education first from home and then a box.

Which is an adaption that will change back in a few months - people have to be flexible

I still think Supermarkets should be closed and some sort of click and collect system only if we want to cut the spread.

It’s not an adaptation it’s a 180 flip of the previous way of working and delivering education.

Maybe but in times of national crises people have to adapt - many others have it tougher

It would be impossible to manage

Is it bullshit? I must have imagined those fans in the arena watching boxing and tens of thousands scrambling to do Christmas Shopping?

It should never have been Tier 2, hence they are now banging on about this new strain that is the reason for the outbreak and obviously nothing to do with this:

EpDfArlWEAUhNRz

Then all trying to jump when they are told to stay in...

So the new strain is made up? Some government conspiracy theory to justify some kind of secret attempt to keep London pubs open at all costs? Yep, definitely DEFINITELY not bitter.

Indoor events, crowded Christmas shopping, people ignoring the rules....it’s all happening in every Tier 2 city (and some Tier 3 ones too). But for some reason London is the only one that really pisses you off, sat at home hitting refresh and moaning how unfair it all is.

The new strain that hits London after they have allowed people there to do whatever the fuck they want? Strange that.

Who is hitting refresh? You seem obsessed that I spent less than a minute after clicking a link and saw a c**t of a woman making comments on social media.

Yes I am sat at home, not much else to do in Tier 3 is there other than look ahead to work tomorrow. I can't be a pretentious prick and go to the theatre and take selfies in Selfridges then wonder why I then have to lock down.

Given you have just said closing shops is unworkable and schools are up there as spreaders of the virus is it not the responsible course of action if not just for a short while as the vaccine rolls out? I cannot teach my subject properly either way but one would do much better at keeping the numbers down.
If you had set foot inside a classroom under these circumstances or at all you’d see my point.

It spread in their schools first which is what preceded Hancock rushing out tests there. If the new strain transmits better between younger people it makes total sense.

Do primary school children each have zoom lessons from the first year?

They do that in the US I believe. If we had ensured that everyone who needed a device and internet had one, we could do it here. But despite having had 9 months to do so some who need them are still without.

The new strain doesn’t exist mate. If they’d just cancelled Joshua vs Pulev and closed Harrod’s then we’d all be back to normal by now.
