2 goals in 5 games (1 Viewer)

But, if we don’t score goals, how soon will it be that we start to lose games 1-0, as we did at Wednesday? We may stay up on 0-0 draws, if teams below us don’t get points, but a few goals and wins would help! We’ve had injuries which haven’t helped. We know that Godden can take chances, but we’re not really making good chances at the moment, just half chances.

Partly due to the system and tactics we employ. Keeping it tight.

The performances and results havnt been bad imo. Would have ripped your arm off for this position 10 games ago

I agree, most of us would have taken this position nearly halfway through the season. I’m just a bit worried that we won’t be able to keep clean sheets indefinitely. You’re right about the tactics, that’s presumably why McCallum is getting the nod over Giles, stronger defensively(?) and taller/better in the air. Safety over ambition. But, survival is everything for this season, so let’s hope Robins has got it right, no reason to doubt him, on his record with us so far.

I remember reading on Facebook or on here (can’t remember which, maybe both) last season that O’Hare is better than Grealish LOL!
In all seriousness he needs to watch how Jack controls a game and changes pace at will. Everything with O’Hare seems so rushed, he needs to calm down a bit and start bossing games

that's the sort of reactionary nonsense you expect from our support unfortunately.
Make your mind up quickly about a player and either slate him or elevate him beyond what he's actually capable of.

I think he will come good. Probably needs a season or two in the league to keep improving. If players were the finished article they wouldn’t be coming to us in the first place

Once he finds end product he will be there we’ve seen it before we just need more consistency from him

I think he needs to be playing further forward which I know you've suggested but at the moment it's about doing the job required for the team.

I’d be a lot more worried if we were still conceding goals left right and centre.

With O’hare I’m not sure what people expected, he’s developing. He was good last year but if you look at his stats in a lower division they were nothing special

Got to be concerned by definition if not scoring.

As for surprised? Not really. It's also a very different question as to whether, overall, you're content or not. Part of the reason we're not scoring is we've focussed on tightening up, and this is the consequence.

I think he's capable of a lot. He hasn't got there yet, however. I do think if he can learn as he gets more games, we'll have a fantastic player however.

It’s hard to find the sweet spot of scoring as well as keeping it tight when you have a very limited squad. Every single one of us knew it would be a long, hard season

Just seen the xg table and we are in 23rd on 14 points so either we are being quite clinical taking our chances or being lucky with teams not taking theirs. Forest are 8th in table so you’d think they will get out of bottom area

Although his end product can be frustrating there can be no denying his commitment or the energy he provides and the amount of free kicks he wins for us is invaluable. I believe it's taking him longer than some of the others to adapt but he certainly has the potential to become a very important member of the group.

Would be interesting to know is stats for fouls conceeded. He gives his all and while this season the end product hasn't been as good, he does seem to frighten the opposition and win free kicks up the pitch.

The lack of goals is a concern but unlike last year, we're chasing 4th from bottom. Keeping a clean sheet is the important thing.

Third most fouled player in the division according to this site.

Yeah. Let’s add some height to the team
If your looking to add height to the team I don't think it's the forward areas I would prioritize or stipulate had to be filled by a 'big lad'. I feel we struggle to worry and stretch teams and a fast forward to run the channels, put crosses in and create space for other forward players could make a big difference and make us a real threat on the break.

I just miss the old days of two wingers running to the goal line and crossing to a man mountain striker. That was entertainment. I’d love to see a game with Dabo and Giles playing as out and out wingers with minimal defensive duties crossing to Ostigard (our version of Shearer)

Almost 4 and a half games we haven't scored

That is fucking criminal

It is 4 and a half games (405 minutes) Both of Kelly's goals were in the first half against Wycombe.

Add to that the last time an attacking player (striker or attacking midfielder) scored was Walker on 12 minutes against Rotherham, thats 618 minutes

I was concerned that we would lose a lot of attacking impetus when we switched the style of play. However, we are being more solid at the back and cut out quite a few of the individual errors (yesterday excepted) so somehow we need to find a middle ground.

The fear is that teams will be noticing we carry no attacking threat and will be willing to attack us more and put us under more pressure in future.
