Undisclosed... (5 Viewers)

If the Bigi transfer is confirmed today, you can bet your bottom dollar that it will be "Undisclosed".

I feel strongly about this and I don't agree with it at all. It was brought into the game so when a club received a fee for a player, other clubs in the transfer market wouldn't hold the buying club to ransom, as they then knew how much money they had.

This is completely irrelevant with City currently as we won't re-invest any fees we get. You would therefore expect that under SISU's new policy of transparency that they will tell us exactly the deal they have done to let our most talented youngster in years go, to justify so AND show us that they are acting in the clubs best interests.

Of course this will not happen as they are (historically) terrible negotiators and will not want to tell us that they've let Gael go for 500k raising to 1m (in the next 5 years) probably with a tiny sell on clause 5-10%.

I'm assuming that the Fleck deal involves a 40% sell on clause for Rangers or something stupid too!

No, I don't agree, but that's the way it is. Nothing we can do about it. It's not a Coventry City thing. It's a football thing.

I'm sure the figures are only 'undisclosed' to the public eye so other clubs don't try and get more money when sellin players and other clubs think ' they just got £xxxm for that player so we'll up our price'.

I'm sure the figures are 'disclosed' when it comes to finance records etc so I do not see how this could be considered 'corruption'

I really like him but we have to be realistic - we are in the last chance saloon and as a club we need the money for our last role of the dice with SISU in League 1 - lets hope we get a shed load of cash for him - it's not his fault he is just a pawn in the game as are we - wish him all the very best and more on

Newcastle will let slip how much he was bought for.

If its peanuts they will rave about only paying £500k for a potential superstar

If its £2 million, they will announce it ito show they are heavily investing in youth.

Either way, we will get a fair idea of how much he went for.

Its a safe bet thatit will be nearer the £500k though !

wouldnt surprise me, but £500k is an absolute travisty !.

Who knows IF he will go onto anything, but even for the "prospect" he is worth £1million !

If w got 1 million, and in enables SISU to pay the rent for 1/2 the season and 1/2 million was invested in wages to get a squad together for a big push, i could just about understand getting rid of him.

£500k hardly scratches the surface !

How much did oxlade Chamberlain go for when Southampton were in league 1? 12 million was it? Sisu, if they are selling our best asset need to get top dollar!

I genuinely don't care how much any player is sold for. In the old days £2 million would mean £2 million to spend elsewhere. Not anymore, now it's straight into SISUs pockets. This isn't FM2012

Edit: Saying that, any money would help the club I suppose. But still, I doubt it would be reinvested in the squad.

I reckon its around 500k which is a sham imo!!

ps. Fleck shouldnt have a sell on fee he wasnt attached to any club, technically...

Is he our best asset? He's an okay player, who might become a good one, or end up nowhere. Too young to know for sure either way.

Premiership clubs can afford to take a gamble of a million or so, and if it doesn't work out, not that big a deal.

A million to us now is a big deal however, jam today, rather than potentially margarine tomorrow.

May of course be jam and cream tomorrow, which is why i'd hope there is a decent sell on clause just in case.

This is a pretty good summary. Somehow the club have to get back up at the first attempt. If not we will get as used to this league as we did the last. I could not even see him starting many games if all the players were fit and we cannot afford a £1 million squad player.

He could in years to come be worth more - could be £5million who knows or he could just as easily drift out of the game and be worth nothing. People who say he will definitely be worth more in a year can easily say that sitting on a keyboard but if you are running a loss making business the weight of responsibility is a lot different. Didn't we reject a substantial bid for Mifsud once? Bad move.

We need to live in the present not the (maybe) future. Short term success is a priority over any long term emotional vision.

He wasn't even a first team starter for us for most of last season!!!

Not sure what Newcastle see in him but he is young however. I think he is unlikely to make it at premiership level because of the pace of the game. He needs to beef up a bit and work his way up through the leagues. probably a bad move for him in the long run.

I do!!!! This transaction has allowed the club's academy to commit to the EPPP as a category 2 club for at least the next 12 months! :claping hands:

I don't see any reason why not. We know that ownership has been covering substantial losses for a while now; surely any income is indirectly going into the first team/youth team.

yes of course, develop all these youngsters ,then to sell them off to buy 35 year old crocks who can't find any other club to take them on.

This has to be the worst strategy ever used in world football !! when will some people see what they are doing to us.Its disgraceful and yet some people see Kilbane as a good signing.

Whose next bring in Lee Dixon, Tony Adams and Martin Keown, as I know there still playing at lower league football, to replace Christie Thomas and Clarke

The current losses are wholly the responsibility of the current owners, as they have overseen a disastrous downhill spiral of dwindling gates, failed management appointments and poor football giving rise to relegation. This isn't what those who gave over their shares for free were promised.

And to be selling the family silver to cover their own incompetence doesn't sit well with many

It is probably the most effective strategy for the club (assuming they're more productive than crocked).

A bit of a straw man, MMM. SISU's performance to date is a whole different topic, but you'd be hard-pressed to say that the money wasn't going into the football club.

Here we go again, calling him a 35 year old crock, although he has averaged over 40 games a season over a long career :) I hope our other players that are not crocks manage nearly as many games as 40.

Funding SISU's investors when they are funding us?

Is this a thread where we try to keep away from facts, but make statements as though they are fact? :thinking about:
