I have no idea why people would be booking holidays now anyway for this year, seems a bit crazy really.

I had a honeymoon booked last year for this summer but preparing to pull the plug on it barring a bumper vaccine rollout.

A lot of people, myself included, had to switch last years holiday to this year, otherwise I'd have lost all of my flight money. Well over a grand. Getting prepared to do the same this year.

True, that’s miles off the radar for me this year. We have a back up in the UK lined up and we’ll rebook going abroad for ‘22 most likely

Maybe the Government could stipulate that anyone volunteerring to help with the vaccination program will receive the vaccine themselves as part of the programme, would safeguard against unnecessary disruption to the rollout programme, suppress the spread from another potential angle and may even act as another way of enticing people to volunteer.

Yeah, decent shout but reckon they’ll stick with oldies priority list (probably correct especially as new lockdown ‘should’ help reduce transmission)

Think they’ve got loads of volunteers to be fair (I applied the other day - don’t panic not administering, just offered to do some stewarding at centres !). Typical ridiculous form filling/online training has put off some volunteering to administer jab from what I’ve read - safeguarding kids (even though not administering to kids), some module on preventing radicalisation and another on equality and diversity !! FFS !

Low risk people are told to keep exercise to once a day, yet you could be older and mooch around all the garden centres in the area.

Yeah I saw that. Tbh those are all standard NHS employee elearning modules. Nobody seems to be able to proportionate anything!

Had the same, was doing shopping, collecting medication etc for them and then I'd get my Mum saying she'd popped to M&S but it was fine as its safe there! Took weeks to drill it into them.

To be fair, it would have been madness to book a July holiday in March of last year as well, but it still could have worked out! Would take balls of steel, but if you know it’s all refundable then I can see why people are giving themselves something to look forward to.

We’ve been looking at booking something for early September, with all the doom and gloom I feel it may just give us something to look forward to ‘a light at the end of the tunnel.

Exactly. Whilst Petes right, a lot appear sensible enough, however, you remove any red tape ones immediately and then tailor to requirements ie if it’s a recently retired doctor, health care professional etc then knock a few modules off the list. Also if you are there solely to administer the jab then surely even some of what would appear more important modules may be irrelevant ?! (Or could be easily condensed).

Like the salary level, I’m sure it won’t put most people off who want to actually help, but still

The thing is there was never really a shortage of it, amazon were shipping trailers full of it around Europe but mainly to Germany.
