That study is the one my missus is part of. She got Covid around April time and had her antibodies tested in November and they were still pretty high.

AFAIK it's not that 'immunity only lasts five months' it's that the trial has only been going for five months so they can't say any more at this point.

Was curious so did a quick google for data on population density and how it relates to covid rates. Found this which would suggest the link isn't as great as you would think.

John Burns Murdoch did a good piece on this saying that it's total number of major metropolitan areas that correlates rather than average population density. He also points out that as viruses don't respect borders, categorising by country isn't particularly useful.

Suspect the ones that have been offered Manchester is down to someone entering some wrong data somewhere.

In any case 'outrage' is a bit over the top. The offer of vaccination at one of the mass vaccination centres is an optional way to get done sooner, if you prefer to have it done locally you still can and you're are still the same place in the queue locally.

Just read the first 11 pages. Nothing too embarrassing for me. Some opinionated people got things completely wrong.

Problem with the deaths figures. They’re probably too high so want to manipulate them a little bit

The problem with population density on a country wide level is that it ignores the spread of people within that country, e.g. Canada is low population density but in any case, most of its population actually live in big city urban areas.
Same thing with Australia and i would think NZ to a certain extent.

Massive, massive, massive overreactions globally.

I saw Pete had 'laughed' at the above!

Happy to admit I totally wrote it off as a bit of flu.

I remember being with two ex colleagues at the time in a Heathrow hotel and one of them was following the story from January. She said we should be stockpiling loo roll etc and I laughed it off and to stop be crazy.

Little did I know that it would have such a life changing effect on everyone.

Guess I need to take some things a little more seriously going forward. Lesson learnt!

Yeah I am definitely taking the words of a Sun journalist as gospel...

Saying that if it was bollocks then why did journalist have a transcript of Steve Bakers email, and why did he feel the need to pull back from his position 2/3 hours later....

what a marvellous balanced teacher you must be to your pupils
I suppose he could always balance it up by telling them that when they leave school they’ll be the laziest workers in the world. Wait, that’s Tory propaganda, they’ll still think Tories are cunts.
Got it. Tell them how tories voted to end free school meals during school holidays. No that won’t work either.
erm. How about when they cheered when they voted to deny NHS staff a pay rise.
Or how their top advisor said if Covid kills their gran then tough.
Struggling to find an angle here where Tories aren’t looking like cunts.

Some of your comments early on this thread make interesting reading. Almost as far off the Mark and me and mr Burge

I still don’t know what you mean. The point I’m making is that people frequently lambast the social media world when it suits but then quote absurd sources as credible to suit an argument

I said nothing about it’s credibility at all. And although you call it out as absurd, this is the party that today announced that they were instructing schools not to provide FSM in the half-term holidays.... less than 24 hours after saying they would sort out the previous shitshow over food packages and their dear leader attempted to mock Starmer for being less of an opposition than Marcus Rashford.

This sir is that absurdity you were looking for.

You think Harry Cole doesn’t have sources in the Tory Party?

That’s a fair point. The author is a brexiteer and the source served as chairman of the ERG. Two very absurd and incredible sources.
