Perhaps, my point is they are almost certainly going to open schools on the 8th which will likely trigger them needing to close them again in the future.

It’s definitely be highest risk area by a mile. You’d hope there is some kind of staggering (ie primary first, any higher transmission areas delayed etc). Not seen any info though

If we go back on 8th of March it's barely 20 days in school, with heavily compromised lessons and social interaction. It just isn't worth it for secondary kids.

You may be right, but even so the way it's said make it seems like if he lifts restrictions in places he do everything he can to avoid putting those restrictions back in place even if cases start to rise again. If that happens he needs to be able to have the scope to reverse them. What he's done is backed himself into a corner by either breaking that 'promise' as the nutters will see it or keeping it and allowing the virus to regain momentum.

But being Johnson he'll be more than willing to u-turn depending on which is most popular. I just hope with vaccinations, hopefully warmer, sunnier weather on the way in the next few months maybe, just maybe we can stop the lockdown cycle. Fear is new variants and wet, dull spring weather will mean this won't be the last lockdown we see.

I wouldn’t have chosen those words either but he’s actually saying ‘we’re going to take it slowly so we don’t have to go through this again’ which will be an attempt to keep public buy in for the coming weeks/months

It is indeed. My son doesn't suffer with his too much now but I'd have been a lot happier if he was getting the jab sooner rather than later
It's clear as day people with asthma have taken extra precautions during this pandemic... My dad wouldn't leave the pissing house at all.

We have to get a flu jab annually so why the difference in something that's more serious? Asthmatics should be ahead of most healthy adults between 50 - 65

This has annoyed me a little bit tbh

But if he starts the nutters will push even harder to get things speeded up, esp if infections don't rise overnight after lockdown is eased. And once again i fer he'd pander to them. He filled the party with them and now he's got to keep them onside.

The restaunt business wants "Eat Out to Help Out" back even though it gave opportunity for the virus to catch hold. I wouldn't be surprised if other industries want similar. "Night Out to Help Out" for the arts, "Work Out to Help Out" for gyms etc.

We've also got the Wetherspoons twat amongst others saying "Open the Pubs" which is again asking for trouble.

Im one of the those twats !!! I want the boozers back open (likely to be minimum 6-7 weeks away even for outdoors though). The schools is the biggest risk area though and could push other reopenings back...personally hope not but will depend on case, hospital numbers etc

Open schools in the summer term and allow hospitality the same.

Why don't we keep schools shut until the most vulnerable groups have had their SECOND jab?

Basically 15 million plus second jabs

Keep the schools shut until next year. By the time September rolls round all of the most vulnerable will have both jabs, most people, if not everyone, will have had 1 and the rates should have plummeted due to better weather anyway.

Can't help but wonder how much of it is organic or staged .
The media often appears to start off the fire or Feed it oxygen .
Maybe it's very convenient for him to him , closer to his true intentions ,used plenty of the same argument at other stages.
Cynical I know .
Adam Boulton took down an MP from Derby (can't remember her name) this morning over that letter that was sent in .

I think you're right, it's all rather choreographed isn't it?

Total cunts, aren't they. All the talk was that Mrs Wisdom would be getting it soon, and it was something to cling to before she's sent back to work and now, taken away because some shits want to play with emotions.

I could accept summer term, that’s still 3 months. But not before as seems to be the case

I'd like to know the motive.
IE if this has been withdrawn when previously offered?
Then if so who are the new recipients, second dosers? A.N other?

I just don't see the point in doing summer term, just push through for the rest of the school year and have it done. Any kids doing exams will have them done by then anyway so you're just getting kids in and messing them about for a couple of months of half teaching. Do it from home as has been, vaccinate as many people as you can and open the petri dishes again in September.

Exams usually not done till June actually and they still haven’t decided on the mode of assessment. I could also desperately use some time for practical work with the exam classes.

You’ll never see a socialist PM again in your lifetime mate give the government credit on the roll out.
If it had been Corbyn and his terrorist sympathisers you’d have been cumming in your pants!!👍🇬🇧

You happy with the corruption that's gone on costing the tax payer billions and the fact that the government are currently spending tax payers money trying to defend it in court?

If the answers yes what is it about that posh accent that makes you such a forelock tugging embarrassment?

Good to see you’ve decided to get the Daily Mail Bingo out again... you must be getting close to a full house by now.

They have done well rolling out the vaccine so far - amazing what happens when you allow an organisation that was created by the arms of socialism to do it, rather than a dog-shit private corporation ripping off the tax payers money.

What we don’t need now is the knob heads at the CRG fucking up the last bit because they’ve got a hard-on for ‘freedom’

Are we forgetting transmission?
Supposed to reduce by 65%+ after vaccination yes?
Question, back to the old one really when we're at the height of next winter booster's will be administered through the age brackets again I assume ,leaving the younger generations likely on potentially one dose of the original, I'd still say this would be where the bulk of transmission occurs.
Does that matter?

Exactly the reason it is working so far is the actual roll out has been under the control of the GPs etc and not Westminster

Probably why the government are wanting to take more control of the NHS... can’t have them and their cronies shown up by the people on the ground.
