Amen. If it were my club, I wouldn't be too happy either. Poor show by RK IMO.

Have you really posted 56 times on the Cov forum? I have never looked at the BCFC forum once. Maybe RK is technically part of your club, come on admit it you are a secret lemonade drinker...............

Believe what you want numbnuts!
I came on here when we were both battling relegation and found it a decent forum with alot of fair and decent posters. This effects my club so what's the problem?
If fans of other clubs aren't welcome, I will leave, easy.

Touchy, I was having a joke. Did not call you any names.

What is your name on the BCFC forums? Did not say you were not welcomed just surprised at your 57 poston a cov forum and think you are converting. Maybe you are a revert.

We are touting Keogh to the highest bidder, why would you have an issue with him not wanting to break his leg for us when we want a million for him? He played today breaks his leg. No move for him, no signing on fee. No one million for us. Nobody happy. His commitment can never be question he played top form week in week out for us. He was never injued he was awesome. he is championship quality.
If we were saying we would not sell no matter ,then he did not play then fair enough. However we are negiotiating a deal to sell him. Why play him we need to see wht the frogs can do. Surely even as a welcome Bristol fan you can see that, gruffnuts

His name is Richard Keogh
SISU are selling him for the dough
Keogh, oh oh oh

We dont have to sell him, one year left on his contact

I agree with most of your sentiments ccfcway, but not this one.

Someone offers you more money to take a promotion in another company. Your company say stay here on the same wages for another year or two. However the other company have made an offer to us, you get more money in a better job and we get money so it up to you..................

Bad Keogh for not wanting to play.....

So we know it isn't SISU that don't want him to play, AT wants to try out other defenders, don't want to use him as he knows he will be sold, or even he knows Keogh can keep fit enough sorting his new wife out....

he's the club captain, under contract with us, in a pre season where the club are showing some signs of looking to try and bounce back. For him to not turn up (if that is the case) as his head wasnt in it, its very unprofessional.

I get the whole "being offered more money" thing, but to not go to work due to this shows a lack of respect to his team mates (who he "leads").

Suppose we will see what comes out in the wash. :(

I'm guessing Keogh's as good as gone after this, although talk had quietend the last few days and Thorn did say he played well with Malaga, why would he say this if he knew SISU were planning on selling him? Has anybody considered it may have been to do with family issues?

A little naive to suggest Keogh is somehow being forced out. He's a good player, loads of clubs are aft er him. He could play in a higher division for more money...

If he goes it will be because he wants to. Fair enough. Personally, i would rather he stayed and he went for free next year.

Keogh told the club yesterday he didn't want to play because he wasn't 100% committed to the cause. Murphy and Bell are injured. I'm not sure about Cody who would be the biggest concern for me has he's the only natural goal scorer we have up front.

SAYS WHO?

Will the real WUM step forward please....

Out of interest, what would people prefer:

1). Let him run down his contract and leave for free but still make use of his last 12 months with us
2). Sell him for the best price IF he has refused the new contract.

I wouldn't like to be losing another decent player for the third season running (if not more) for nothing after it was obvious they were never going to re-sign with us (MK, Westwood, Crainie)

SW, I'd agree with Skybluefaz, a big striker is essential. Still think Akinfenwa is a realistic target in the short term. He's a tank and has a proven record in lower divisions. Surely £150,000 (I'm told he's under contract) would clinch it? Unless others have better targets? He'd guarantee 15 goals minimum. With Platt at Northampton, he may want away?

I was only messing with you Don and apologise if you are offended by 'numbnuts', it could have been alot worse.
My dad lived in Kenilworth many moons ago and watched you lot before settling down here in Bristol hence my interest in your team.
FWIW, I think it was a very poor show by Keogh yesterday, very unprofessional of him.
FYI, I rarely post on OTIB as posters get slaughtered on there.

Ha ha no problem buddy, Numbnuts was funny. Hence the gruffnuts reply. It was someone else calling me a wum over my comment to you that was a bit silly.

Thought there would be more to it than a bizarre fascination with cov.

Can't agreecwith you on Keogh though. We can't have it both ways we are negiotiating with two clubs trying to get the best price for him.

I can't imagine AT would have wanted him to play. What is the point he will not be here next season. AT needed to run the rule over the 2 other centre halves.

Keogh does not strike me as the sort of person who would spit his dummy out.

I believe it us just someone on here who has speculated that he did. I don't think that is a widely accepted fact.

So I think it us very harsh to suggest he has behaved unprofessionaly on the back one person's gossip.

So what's the truth then? Was he picked to play and didn't turn up or was he not picked to protect any deal?
If it's the latter then he did nothing wrong but if it's the former then he was a tad naughty.
Like you, I met RK when he was down here previously and he didn't seem the 'me, me, me' type atall so I am a little surprised by yesterdays events.
If it's down to £££, he will end up at Crapdiff as we can't compete with their backing, not many can!

If I get the job to take his car back to him (car went back to bmw, is goin back to him when northampton get back from there training camp i think) I'll ask him if he had any intrest. Picked up his car last Sunday didn't think to ask him! Will try get the job! Here's hoping.

Just to confirm i was'nt calling either you, or eastender a late night WUM, there was a clear WUMMER at work just making up things to create a silly argument.

Anyway I was up late/early for the fight , and my brain was a little fuzzled.

If Keogh doesn't want to play for the club and only has 1 year left it is in the clubs best interests to get as much money as they can and replace him with someone who does want to play for the club.

I would get him to sign another two year contact so we make more out of him, but sell him in January when some of the clubs in Championship are starting to struggle.
To be honest I thought those two French guys yesterday at Hinckly looked a very good option, sell Wood too if we get them lol

He has been a good player and was a good signing, hope he enjoys Bristol/Cardiff and we get the money we need to add 2 more players to the squad.. Good luck to the fella good honest pro and deserves to be playing in the championship...

His wife is from Bristol so you have a slight advantage. However with Cardiff he has a realistic chance of promotion.

If you do get him you will be signing the best centre back in the championship

Essentially, we don't know. It's all gossip and fuelled by an unprovable supposed quote by Richard Wood. But given our record in the last three pre-seasons of not selecting our best player for any games, and then him being suddenly fully fit and signed by another club, I think you can take it that Keogh will be sold. It's almost certainly out of his hands, and yes, I've met him too: the most down to earth footballer I've met in the modern era. Not the sort to spit his dummy out or go "on strike".

He's not very popular down your way though, is he? Yet Louis Carey is  I can tell you that Keogh is 5 times the player he was when he left you, and he is too good for Bristol City! Cardiff should be the lowest he aims for.

Oh btw, we won't re-invest the fee: how many players have we signed for a fee in the last 2 years? Dunn and that's yer lot I think!

McDonald too

That's right, forgot that, we did re-invest a fraction of the Turner fee. Still almost a year since we spent a fee though, and we've sold Lukas and Gael for big bucks since.
