Out of Contract Championship Players (11 Viewers)

Think we need to replace the spine with some championship experience. Marosi, McFadz, Kelly, Godden all bought in outside “the model” in L1 and instrumental in pushing us forward to a top L1 side.

Don’t know enough to know who’s who in that list, but the championship version of those four would be on my mind if budget allows.
Yep it’s why I wouldn’t automatically renew Kelly contract although he’s so important

Danny Hylton on there. When we were in L2/L1 he was the sort of player I thought we should have been looking at. At 32 now though and in the Championship I'd say no. However, IF we do go down then I would take a punt on him in L1.

Also, Joe Bennett for Cardiff looked alright against us, probably our biggest need in the summer is a LB. Worth a look on a free?

The only one on the list I think he’ll be thinking about is Liam Walsh. The list you need is premiership under 23’s out of contract and loans

mmmm Walsh has had a job to prove himself this season - think he would work well in our team

An experienced centre half to fit into the MacFadz role would be handy, preferabley 29 or older.

Barry Bannon if Wednesday go down as expected.

There are three ex-Coventry goalkeepers on that list - Westwood, Camp and Allsop

Those players you mention brought in at League 1 level now have championship experience, and I anticipate a number of those existing players from League 1 will significantly improve from this year's experience. Given our continued financial limitations I can't see us bringing anymore than one 30 year old type with the Championship experience you are looking for, and I would expect us to continue to look to bring in players in their early 20's who we can develop for a big sell on profit.

Not one player in that list I'd want here. Not one.
You wouldn't even have Nick Powell?

11 league goals in 30 games from midfield.

Hamer 5
Kelly 2
O'hare 2
James 1
Allen 1
Shipley 1

Entire midfield 12

We couldn't afford him anyway.

Or Mowatt also fantastic. Very odd. Be interested to see which of our signings he’d be happy with

Agree we will buy good young talent i dont think we wil going for established has beens on stupid money.

Young hungry players with potential will cost money, we should be cleaning up the cream of league 1.
Sheaf and walker are examples we might need more experienced players at the level also

Only McFadz was in his 30s, Marosi was 25 when we brought him in, Godden and Kelly 28 I think.
