For the first time in a long time. Whatever anyone was saying that one goal has changed everything along with finally realising after 40 games the best way to play. Had it gone the other way we would be in trouble. It’s that big a result

this season was always about staying up by hook or by crook, we're not quite there yet but we're close.

Great result tonight.
Still a long way to go....
Barnsley on Sunday.... who have apparently won their last SEVEN away games....and are absolutely flying.

We're getting very close would take a point Sunday against a good Barnsley side, one win in remaining games after will do it.

They play a very high energy press.
They haven't played midweek and have an additional day's rest on top.
Would have been tough without this game tonight.
@Barnsley - thoughts??

With 8 games to go I backed us not to lose again this season, thought we’d draw with Reading, Boro, Yourselves, and Norwich, and win the rest. Now I fancy us to turn you over, due to us having had more rest.

A point will be a good result on Sunday. We won’t be as fresh. Only 48 hrs to recover. But I expect Robins to change it about, as we then have Stoke 2 days later.

It's 3 days (66 hrs) 9pm Thursday to 3pm Sunday, so not quite as bad as you've suggested. Tough game, and we probably have as much chance against Stoke. Nice to watch tomorrow's game and Saturday's and I suspect we'll reassess. If Blues beat Rotherham, then I'd be surprised if they can recover. Have to say I've been on Rotherham's forum and their fans have all said 'fair play' with regards to us, and Wednesday fans have been really positive towards our club (considering their predicament). Nice to see fans not just spouting bile for a change.

Due to your form and particularly the way you lot play, I'd agree in terms of our game on Sunday.
There will be a fair few of our lot with no idea of either and will be expecting a home win on name alone.
Hope things remain civil as I have enjoyed and appreciated your input on here!!

Not over yet. Massive step closer last night though. If Blackburn could beat Derby tonight, that’d be good. Couldn’t give a shit who goes down, as long as it isn’t us. Just keep knocking down those below us. Birmingham win on Sunday would be splendid.

Last nights game really wasn't the be all and end all. But opening up the gap again is a big psychological step, as is a clean sheet an away win, sucked a few more in.

If we could get our first back to back win v Barnsley that would be another big psychological step at this level

Big thing for me last night was putting teams between us an Rotherham. Hopefully that means even if we stutter there are other (beside Rotherham) teams that have to do better than us!

Still think we need 50 points. Not beyond Rotherham to get 10 points out of last 7 games, that's hardly Roy of the Rovers stuff and we'd therefore need 50 points. I know other teams are in the mix, but it's tight.

I'll be more confident if Blues beat Rotherham on Sunday, and a draw against Barnsley wouldn't go a miss. We have a big 6 pointer against Huddersfield still to go, and games against Preston, Millwall and Stoke who are likely to have nothing to play for. I think 4 points would do it.

50 points has to be the aim. Although they were appalling last night and quite clearly fatigued, as shown against QPR Rotherham have the ability to snatch wins out the bag.

As predicted, it's looking like their fixture backlog is causing them issues, so hopefully that will play to Birmingham's hand on Sunday as a win could draw us back into deep waters if we struggle against Barnsley - which given their recent form is hardly unlikely.

Have you seen Rotherham’s next 10 days, Birmingham, Middlesbrough, Barnsley and Brentford?

They were leggy last night. They’re now in a position where they can’t pick and choose their games. Which one of them games do you think they’ll win?

Is it just me that would prefer Rotherham to beat Brum ?
It keeps at least 2 clubs between us and the bottom 3 regardless of our result v the tykes

No because given their recent upturn in form, Birmingham are probably going to finish above us this season regardless of their result against Rotherham.

Equally, we'll be lucky to come away with a point against Barnsley which drags us back into the thick of it if Rotherham win.
