Posh bloke earning roughly 6 times the average UK worker should get free food mde for him. Single parent families struggling to get by on minimum wage should get fuck all. You really are a cap doffer aren't you. I bet you're envious of Cameron's pig at the Bullingdon club.

No he’s leader of the country Merkle gets twice a much as him - you unlike Germans are riddled with working class envy

If Corbyn was elected if say the same. The fact we don’t pay decent wages is why we get losers like Corbyn

Len McCloskey gets £400 grand a year - 10 times the average worker - are you a union flat cap doffer?

The point is they are the voice into parliament which runs the country so clearly a 6 figure salary with benefits and fixed salaries to employ staff office space etc

Obviously yes with Sultana as she is in the job. I’ve said before face to face she and Robinson’s replacement are pleasant and earnest enough but she needs to get away from this utter Corbynist nonsense

The more you pay people the irony is the less inherent wealth people will be elected as you’d get people from top business jobs who otherwise will not take a pay cut and live away from home for weeks on end

Those business people would be focused solely on the money aspect. Couldn't give a fuck about the people. Point of government is to serve the public, not make money. So being a top business person does not necessarily make you good at running a country. If anything if you're choosing it for the pay deal it kind of proves you're not the person suitable for it. Would you want a nurse who was doing it for the pay, or the one who was doing it because they wanted to care for people?

Now, there may be all sorts of avenues a govt might go down after that and which would invite some very intense debate, but there are consequences for not monitoring borders.
Borders are monitored, it’s more to do with what happens once people are inside the country.

Agree with this Pete. If there’s huge numbers of vacancies in any sector/employer it either suggests there either isn’t the staff available or the wages aren’t enough. I think with nurses it’s the latter. Pretty much the whole country would support a decent rise for front line health workers, the government needs to pull their fingers out

So given supply and demand the number of people that try to get elected as MP's/councillors, not just in the actual ballots but in just getting the nomination suggests it's not that bad a gig doesn't it?

100%. It is a vocation, it requires no training, no set level of education or experience. Parliament 'should' be representative of the community it represents.

Wow. Johnson missed 5 cobra meetings at the start of the pandemic because he was writing a book about Shakespeare to fund his divorce. If this is true, then he let thousands die just to make a few quid. The prime fucking minister.

To save another tier of governance and to act as a benign figure - it’s a unique constitution which is the envy of much of the world

No it isn't. That's why they're republics and didn't keep their kings and queens.

I think the Queen is playing a blinder and once she goes the monarchy will be on borrowed time. But I don't think a President is better. Similar power but with the argument of being chosen and then they use the power they've been given to stay there. That's how you end up with the likes Of Putin.

Why bring that up? I've said before on here how much I think the upper echelons of Unions are worse than those in business. They complain about these people of six figure salaries doing desk jobs, when that's exactly what they are. It's hypocritical.

And don't forget the expenses MP's can claim. That can massively increase the remuneration. They get stuff the average worker are banned from claiming expenses for.

Grendel 100% has a little shrine to Boris in his house. Doffs his cap to it every morning and again before bed.

Everyone else can admit faults in their favoured party/leader but he absolutely adores Johnson and literally cannot fault him for anything. The one thing he takes from a story about Johnson having £30k of takeaways, large amounts of it paid for by donors, is: 'it's a disgrace he doesn't have a private gym and sauna' :ROFLMAO:

Most certainly not as all the powers are in the hands of the prime minister

If Argentina invade the Malvinas and we decide this is an act of war parliament decides and he deploys the military not the monarch

The Queen is the official head of state, even when you're as wrong as physically possible just plough on regardless

I'd prefer it was full of highly competent people who were committed to doing the best for the country and its people regardless of their backgrounds.

Me too, instead we have a shite journalist who made a career on making stuff up running the country and a fireplace salesmen in charge out our children's education.

c. Been beaten up and sacked
d. Been told by her superiors, its no problem because its the same as taking the knee, which is fine by us.

More top quality advice from his useless management team.

“spine tingling” according to Morgan as Starmer breaks down and sobs at the loss of his beloved parents

He’s completely useless, Boris will forever be getting more popular which isn’t a bad thing!

Starmer is looking more and more like Labours IDS I can’t believe he’s agreed to do this it’s going to be a car crash
