It's not just about Italy's passing. They are a very spatially aware team. They use the gaps between the opponents so well. They instantly know where to pass and where to collect the ball.

To be fair the Belgians are leaving acres between the lines, the just let him waltz in there, great finish but nobody laid a hair on him, and now a penalty

Glad that was given as a penalty. The defenders usually get away with those, and shouldn't. It also makes for a better game.
