I assumed he meant when his Wigan loan spell failed and there was talk he was coming back here?It was the other way around wasn't it

Not as many as Richard Duffy in his four spells... Maybe the tree record will be overtaken by McCallum this season! How many trees did Mark Robins pull up after his first spell with us?
I mean if player plays 12 minutes and has their contract terminated its not exactly a successful signingJust as a point of order. A fair few have stated that Bright "flopped" in Greece and India.
He didn't. He played 12 mins in Greece and scored. He played 12 games in India and scored 3. Their best player on show. Now, I know neither stat is a glowing reference but he didn't "flop" at either of those teams.
It's naive not to look at trends, but to point to the exceptions. We wouldn't be signing Dion Dublin and thinking he could turn it on like he used to.Point is saying that a lack of achievement after leaving the club first time round cannot be taken as an indicator of likely success second time round.

I'm trying to remember what happened now, but I thought Robins did try to get Bright back after his loan spell finished. The same manager who didn't want him last time round - his career has hardly improved has it
The Indian super league is horrific quality. His captain was Danny Fox ffs and the top scorer in the league was 38Just as a point of order. A fair few have stated that Bright "flopped" in Greece and India.

I fail to see your point
Robins record as manager here was similar in terms of ppg to it is now (more first time I think)
No one of course knows what we will be paying him. I cannot believe its going to be much -- if its happening I am genuinely astonished given we wrote him off first time round

We know he has a pretty awful attitude and inevitably if he's marginally succesful he will be looking to leg it again at the first offer
Yes we didDidn't we sign Peter Ramage from the Indian league?
Bring it on - would like to see him back, he brought some excitement to the game even if not always positive. Most people on here wanted him to sign from Wolves and only started slating him when he went to Wigan. Now apparently he is shit??
Not wrong. With Kasteneer off though, we need a token maverick loon.We know he has a pretty awful attitude and inevitably if he's marginally succesful he will be looking to leg it again at the first offer

tbf if he's cheap enough, and it's a one year deal with a year's option in our favour, so he can try to get his move, and we flog him quick, then it's no harm done in my view. He did look like he had 'something' after all.
Then again, so did Kevin Thornton...

happy with this

Again, points of order. The contract was mutually ended. We don't know what went on behind the scenes. If there was anything serious, then it wouldn't be mutually agreed.
It all points to off field stuff. The talent is there and if MR thinks he can harness it then let's get behind him. He'll certainly get you off your seat.
True, and people mention Kastaneer, Jobello, Hillsner etc and other 'dodgy signings'
They didn't exactly throw the whole club into turmoil did they? It can't really be said that they impacted the club negatively
Didnt flop though did he?
Jobello and Hillsner have zero attitude issues. Even Kastaneer I think was viewed as harmless - just an idiot
So nail your colours to the mast here- you think its a bad signing, one we shouldn't make?

I thought he had talent but showed little intelligence in his play, would be surprised if he made his presence felt at Championship level
This guy has it all worked out
