Ferguson is thoroughly unlikeable but I respect him a lot with hindsight. Keegan i thought was an alright bloke and an average manager.
Random conversation but I'll take it over politics.

Good cause it wasn’t meant to be about that, just interesting. I don’t know enough about Shankley and this older managers.

I don’t like Ferguson and his achievements for me came from trying to buy everyone who ever had a good game v Man Utd, luck (the class of 92), and the one thing I would credit him with- drive and aggression. Clough was a genius, I don’t see Ferguson on the same level tbh

Pretty sure Keegan was too, remember him waxing lyrical about “the working man”

so 3 Scottish nationalists and Keegan - that’s not scraping the barrel it’s looking under it

The very last team Ferguson won the league with proved his genius for me, i too thought there was a lot of luck beforehand, but that team was nowhere near good enough on paper to win a league.

Sam Allarydyce is a Tory and a more successful manager than Keegan - case closed I guess

I've been pretty confident going into most games but already feel a loss coming on Sunday.
I do think Italy are the slightly better team but we are at home, don't forget that. It's a massive advantage.

I’d agree with anyone else apart from Italy.. apart from Germany maybe

I think I saw somewhere on Opta that Italy have a 69% chance of winning- don’t know how they work it out but I think it’s based on all the stats from matches so far

I wonder whether we’ll get another domestic boost if we go and win the thing

Crowds went up after Italia ‘90 and then we had the whole face paint stuff after Euro ‘96 & football got seriously big, if stadiums can open back up and we win the tournament I reckon we’ll see bumper crowds next season everywhere, even at Cov- wouldn’t it feel good to be walking into the CBS Arena off the back of us being European Champions? Fair enough nothing to do with CCFC but I think it would bring a big boost

I had a spreadsheet of all potential fixtures and booked everything I needed off accordingly. But somehow have ended up in the office for a nightshift tonight absolutely hanging out of my arse.

Just twats that don't want to be seen to be missing out.

The reason it was so good was because we've been through so much shit with them. They'll never understand.

At the outset of the tournament I predicted Italy to beat us 1-0 in the final. Wishing I had money on it now. To be honest, though, with how it’s gone it wouldn’t be a disaster to lose the final. France lost the 2016 final and followed that up with winning the World Cup.

We're certainly going to be going into the World Cup full of confidence. Only next year.

Italy England is the final i thought it would be after the stars aligned with the route .(thought we'd lose in the last 16 before that 🤣)

I think we can beat them , but we have to get it right .

England 2 - 1 Italy AET

Kane x 2 and tournament top scorer

And with someone like Bellingham potentially developing into a starter. Not that Rice and Phillips haven’t impressed, but any improvement is good.

Italy v Spain changed everything for me- I was pretty scared of playing Italy as they’re too smart, but Spain ripped through them seemingly at will. Not saying we’ll do that but my fears receded seeing how they struggled at times. Had they a finisher Spain would be in the final.
