Its not a surprise that there's people on here who know people now getting covid is it? We've been opening things up which has led to a rise in cases among groups that are mixing. Just look at the numbers from educational settings.
Obviously there's a need to open things up but its concerning the way the numbers are all going the wrong way and our response seems to be to just make it a free for all, struggling to get my head round it. You can open things up but still keep some basic precautions in place. That's what the experts have been saying for months would be needed in order to live with it and we seem to have suddenly changed our plans and headed off in a direction no other country is going in. Israel are ahead of us with vaccinations but once the Delta variant took hold they had to reintroduce masks and now there is talk of bring back further restrictions.

Experts have consistently said test, trace and isolate is key to opening up and we seem to be winding that down rather than ensure it is working smoothly. We did numerous test events showing that large crowds of people with negative tests are relatively safe and we're completely ignoring that moving forward.
