I would also argue we had the strongest squad in the tournament along with France and Belgium but didn’t quite work out how to use it

And no I’m not slating Southgate at all, just things to learn as we head into Qatar

Did better than France and Belgium and everyone said we had the best attack but an awful defence. Well Pickford and the back 4 and 5 were excellent

When you look at a replay of our goal it’s like looking at a different team completely to the one that played the last hour of the game

They couldn’t handle it that half. Then we went very conservative and conceded a terrible goal

On the other hand he's had us in a world cup semi final and Euro's final. Italy best team in the tournament but we were a very close second.

We have been incredibly lucky with the draw in the knockout stage of the last 2 tournaments. In the world cup we lost 3 games. Belgium in the group, Croatia in the semi and Belgium again. We were lucky to get Colombia and then Sweden in the knockout stage. Croatia in a semi was great on paper. In these Euros again the draw has been fantastic for us. Definitely a missed opportunity and I do think Southgate does struggle to change a game.

how come rashford dint come on at half time of extra time. Was stripped and ready.

For me, as long as he learns, I'm right behind Southgate; however, with the likes of Foden, Bellingham, Grealish Sancho, he really needs to utilise our attacking options. We've had 2 tournaments in a row with favourable runs and one where the final was at home.

We got it wrong in both the semi in 2018 and this final .

We HAVE to learn , nobody remembers the runners up

I disagree- had we dominated them and lost on penalties we’d know we went for it, we didn’t tonight and we pretty much beat ourselves.

Ultimately we still don’t know how to win, Italy do, and that’s that.
