5 UK accounts sent racial abuse according to BBC.

What needs to happen is some form of identity to open a social media account why ? Because its not just racism that's a problem , there's bullying and harassment and more

It's a free for all with no consequence, these platforms are actively dividing society and creating societal problems .

They can no longer continue the way they are

Mention Covid or post a half naked photo Instagram take it down and you get a warning for breaking rules but racist stuff is ok they let that go it’s a disgrace

Obviously those need to be dealt with, but it goes without saying.

I think the fact that racist abuse "goes without saying" is precisely the problem, and it's a good thing that it's getting called out as forcefully as it is. The numbers involved don't especially bother me, and I'm not sure why they would.

To summarise very basically, we passed up too many opportunities to counter attack, we defended really well until we went to 4-3-3. England ‘controlled the game without the ball’ was a quote from a coach from Dortmund.

From the Telegraph, we were right to be cautious, but we weren’t good enough at it.

Felt like they took total Control once they made the 2 subs after half time ,we then waited 16 minutes to counter their subs and try and change it..by that time their confidence showed In their dominance

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. At half time I felt like we had things under control and had eased off so as to conserve energy, but we just never got going again. The move to a back 4 came about 15 minutes too late and meant that we had no out ball.

Mount was an issue as well - he had a bit of a stinking tournament in the end. It was silly for him to continue playing a nominal ‘wide right’ position when we were trying to get out, and all of the defensive work in the world ain’t gonna make a difference when the ball comes straight back. Sancho or Saka were required much earlier to get someone able to carry the ball out at pace.

I'm told by a very reliable colleague who was watching in an Earlsdon establishment that when the pens went astray there was more than one utterance of the W word. Given the sort of racist abuse I've heard from City 'fans' at away games I shouldn't be surprised, and yet I still found it genuinely shocking.

I agree that it would have probably have been better to have started either Saka or Sancho.

An interesting stat from the game was our passing completion in the final was 74.9%. This was about 10% below our average for our tournament so it’s entirely possible that the team lost its composure somewhat too.

It's just baseless accusations.

Unless you can read people's minds and thought police them, or come up with a Minority Report style system then it is best to start rounding up the people that have actually committed an offence, which currently stands at 5 plus the Pompey group chat (of which none of them are registered posters on this forum in all likelihood).

Exaggerating a problem or deciding more people are racist than the figures suggest because you want to stand on a high and mighty hill does no one any favours.

As for inferring that that people on this thread have been racist, I am absolutely certain that they would be blocked and shot down by 100% of everyone else if it was the case.

We also really have to congratulate the way Italy approached the game .

After the first 20 minutes they took control , were positive, good on the ball and looked to attack us

We can argue about why England lost , but the reality is we just arent as good a team as the Italians , either that or their play style Completely counters ours

This is was achieved by the 2nd or 3rd youngest squad in the tournament.

The failures hurt, for sure. But, I highly doubt anyone was calling for Joachim Löw’s sacking following defeats in a final and 2 semi-finals before 2014. Or, Didier Deschamps after Euro 2016.

The main thing is that we’re starting to build a culture whereby being in the latter stages of a tournament is being normalised. That is so key for future success.
