They said yesterday I believe that every single adult had been offered a first jab .

One would assume we are roughly 8-12 weeks off the rollout being complete

In adults that is

My amazing freedom day story is that my missus woke me up this morning telling me (and I don't know how she would know ) that we have annoying birds in the garden that sound like veloceraptors .

Why im in this relationship I don't know

All joking aside though. Vaccine or not. We are all going to know a lot more people who catch Covid going forward. Hopefully it won’t result in serious illness or deaths due to the vaccine.

It’s going to be carnage.

On a trip to Longleat years back, an ex of mine told me that the rabbits looked just like guinea pigs.

I informed her that was because they were guinea pigs...

We test more people daily than the rest of Europe combined.
Even if that were true, which it isn’t by a long shot, the reason we’re doing more testing than any other country in the world right now is simply because we have more cases. More cases equals a greater need for testing.

My parents are late 60s and am genuinely concerned, it doesn’t help having not seeing them since it started.
The blasé attitude about people dying from certain posters is idiotic.

Whilst true I think we will need to get used to flu deaths of 10000 a year and probably a similar number of Covid deaths. We will get good at treating it and the vaccine will need tinkering with but that’s the reality about 30-50 deaths a day

Is that really what we’re saying here, that 10,000 deaths is worth it so we can open everything up now?

Not sure that’s what he’s saying specifically. But at some point we need (the media needs) to stop with the daily updates when an acceptable level is established.

Biggest issue with Covid is carrying and infecting without symptoms. If you’ve got the flu you are in bed not moving. Combination of vaccines and natural immunity we’ve got to draw the line somewhere. I do feel this stuff today is a bit too soon though.

I know what you mean and I don’t have any answers- one minute I’m glad we’re open again the next I worry for my parents, and that’s a very good point about symptoms- you’re right. If you’re bunged up with flu you stay away from people, how do you do that if you don’t even know you’ve got covid

The no symptoms bit has been the main bit for me the whole time. It’s the entire reason for lockdown isn’t it?

Fair enough. I’ve had it properly what I thought was once and was in bed for 3 weeks. Looks like I’ve got some apologising to do to people I thought were blagging it.
FWIW, it's what we'll (hope!) Covid ends up as. Spanish flu still circulates, but it's in the minority among all the other flu viruses out there... the ones you wouldn't necessarily mind getting.

Hopefully we end up with killer Covid, but more often than not people ripping the piss out of people with man-Covid!

Well... we do still have a culture where it's seen as good to battle into work if you're remotely able to. And tbf that's hard to break too - I don't want to be seen as a malingerer!
