I do find it strange how people have created this narrative whereby they're convinced Moore is an upgrade on Marosi when there's actually a fair amount of evidence to the contrary.

I'm all for people being entitled to their opinions but if you can't back an opinion up with anything more than "it's a Robins signing then he must be an upgrade" then it doesn't hold much weight.
Why would we sign a keeper Robins didn't think was an upgrade. Whats the fair amount of evidence to the contrary?

Nor does the opposite view, slating him before he’s played a single competitive minute

Hard disagree. Our defence and GK were by far our biggest issue. We lost our strikers due to injury but when they played they were more than good enough, our problem was getting the ball to them in dangerous areas. Our xG was pathetic last season.

We needed to either buy a big man we can lump it up to or massively improve the defence so we weren’t under the cosh the entire time. We’ve done neither.

We drew 5 home matches 0-0

There’s a decent player there but he needs to cut of the mistakes. But look, we haven’t paid £750k up front for him. Far from it.
Can’t see or but let’s see them mistakes should been gone from academy days again let’s see hopefully I’m proven wrong

Why would a manager let a keeper go to bring in a worse one ? Does that make sense to you ?

All it consists of is ‘our recruitment so far concerns me though I know the club is trying’. But around these parts unless you’re gushing over the activity you think we’re doomed to relegation-nobody here has said that.

Who is gushing? From what I can see people are reserving judgement and waiting to see what happens next, instead of banging on incessantly about how terrible everything is

Hopefully. It’s a gamble, both looked short of the level last season so we’re hoping that was all down to injury.
There were times when Dabo clearly wasn’t fit. I think Robins may have even said they played him regardless of this.
Rose I wasn’t so sure about but seeing how he played towards the end of the season I was satisfied that it was his lack of fitness that had hindered him too.
Both showed enough to satisfy me that they could perform at this level.
The injury issue is a gamble I guess, as that is with any player. let’s just hope they stay fit.

The point seems to be that the current financial situation of the club is irrelevant, and we should plough every single penny we have into buying players that Brighton and shmmeee have personally approved.
Wow I completely got the wrong end of the stick - sorry! All hospitality companies will be struggling without fans for a whole season. I would imagine the loss will be near £10m for last season but who knows. I know the money is loaned to us at high interest rates but it would be daft to think this won’t have an impact this summer

So this isn’t over the top nonsense but some concerns over current recruitment are. Got it.

Oh and voicing them means you must be ‘glass half empty’ and a ‘negative streak of piss’. It’s a bit like when you defended Southgate’s approach to games right up until we lost a game because of that approach. It’s valid to have doubts sometimes and it doesn’t mean you think the world is ending!

Yes, however we’re complaining about not bringing in enough/ the right players even though our business so far isn’t lagging behind other teams at all really.

Why do you keep saying “negative streak of piss” over and over again? I’m guessing that’s levelled at you a lot… I wonder why 😆

He hasn't played more than a handful of games in three years and no club has even taken him on loan in that period, it's fairly probable that Robins has been actively looking for another keeper to challenge for the No.1. spot which suggests Moore wasn't brought in as an outright first choice, although Sheffield United fans have spoken highly of him, a number are in agreement that his level is probably top-end League One.

I think that's probably enough evidence to warrant posters questioning his ability. That being said, I'm more than happy to wait to see him in action but I just don't agree with certain posters vilifying others for not being overly enthused about the possibility of having him as first choice next season.

Why would Robins sign him, if like you said, Marosi was better anyway based on evidence?

Well... (and I'm not saying this is why, but you asked for possibilities!) he'd sign him if he was cheaper than Marosi, and he'd decided Wilson was first choice.

Did I say Marosi was better? I think you'll find I didn't actually say that.

What I did say however is I don't believe Moore was brought in as an outright first choice which makes me question whether he is a significant upgrade.

The fact that we were allegedly close to bringing in a GK on loan probably proves that. It's only my opinion though you're more than entitled to think he's a wonderful signing, but I just won't agree.

I know you're slow but at least read the post properly. I didn't say Moore was worse.

Why would Robins look to bring in another GK if Moore was his outright first choice? Does that make sense to you???

Jeez I never knew that!!!!

I am being generous and trying not to be a negative streak of piss. I too have signed Moore on a free in various FM iterations when there was nobody else.

Just trying get the point over to someone obviously struggling with blurring of real life and a game.

Imagine writing off a player because they weren't that good on FM

Edit* Actually reading your post you seem to be sticking up for Moore, sorry about that

Concerned that neither Rose nor Dabo got on V Sevilla. I won’t start the Moore argument again but even Robins said he’s there to challenge Wilson not as No 1

Did Rose travel to Spain? as he wasn’t named on the bench. Dabo is obviously not fully fit otherwise he would have come on, so it is a bit of a concern.

How do you know robins is looking for another keeper

I don't, but numerous sources alluded to the fact that Matija Šarkić was close to coming in but that was then met with radio silence. Unsure what happened with that but given Šarkić's pedigree, coupled with the fact that Wolves wouldn't have sent him on loan to us for him to sit idly on the bench not getting any game time, he'd almost certainly be challenging for the No.1. spot.
