Once you start calling people names you know you've lost the argument.

I would say that 99% of debates on here end with name calling to be honest Stu!
If anyone dares to offer even a fair balanced view (such as the Philosopher) which contradicts the views of '2 or 3 of the hard core' then it usually descends into the usual:
-I've got a stat that absolutely proves my argument (followed by some completely random stat most likely not related to the discussion)
-this is a football forum - you're not really made for this are you
-finding a post from 2009 in which the poster was ultimately seen to be wrong
-finally when there is no argument left we get the usual....you're crazy and obsessed
-and then laughing emojis (the ultimate sign that an argument is lost to be honest)
What is interesting and the psychiatrists would certainly have a field day on this is that the same set of posters who jumped on every mistake that Max was supposed to have made last season are pretty much finding excuses and mitigating factors every time Sheaf is viewed to be responsible for something.
It's actually really positive that posters are defending players but it doesn't mean that we can't have a balanced debate as to how any player can improve.
