It's worth noting it's not just the people who end up in hospital for Covid, it's the measures hospitals have to take to protect those who are admitted for something else, and haven't had a vaccine.

Actually, a rare moment of praise for government, that they've let this decision filter out in reasonable time. Their previous decisions have caused me great anxiety, as they have seemingly abandoned me and my age group.
At least this time around, I know there's a plan, and I know I'd be pretty unlucky to be finished off by Covid... until next autumn at least, anyway

They say they are not anti vax but pro freedom of choice and to go against them is dictatorial
A Jew in a concentration camp could not become a non jew in the same way someone living in apartheid could not become white. These people have a freedom of choice.
Ironically if we go down absurd WW2 analogies ESB is Lord Haw Haw spreading fear and misinformation. I am in favour generally of civil liberties but there is no reason to not take the vaccine at all. None. Its for the good of society so I am afraid that if this behaviour continues then I am leaning towards measures that restrict their movements as they are not prepared to think of the greater population.

NW and Grendel are spot on here. What the likes of ESB are forgetting when making these ridiculous analogies is that those refusing to take the vaccine are forcing the vulnerable, who have no choice in the matter, out of society. They are causing exactly the segregation they claim to be against.
There's a large group of CEV people for whom the current advise includes avoiding places where there will be unvaccinated people present. So the reality is whichever route we take we're restricting a group of people and given a choice between forcing restrictions on the vulnerable, who have no choice in the matter, or anti-vaxxers, who are making a choice, I know which group I'd be restricting.

What about the people that feel they are being put in danger by people being selfish? If lockdowns did happen again the first people affected would be the vulnerable and elderly. Is it right that they should be deliberately and systematically segregated from the rest of us against their will just because a few nutcases and people too afraid to admit they're scared of needles refuse to get the vaccine? If anyone has to be segregated it should be those that are causing the problem of their own free will. Same reason why we deliberately and systematically segregate criminals into prison against their will.
