From Stoke's Oatcake forum: Their players went to London for a Xmas 'bash'. In which case, how f&cking stupid (and not our fault!..................

'Ouch, it's at our end? Didn't our lot go down to London at the weekend just gone for their Christmas do?

I wonder if 6 is the best case scenario?'
Yep

If Derby is off I’d think our game will be, there’s talk on Talksport of the whole Boxing Day program possibly being in doubt.

Rooney has said Derby can’t fill a bench at the minute due to the covid outbreak there so I’d assume they’re below the 14 player mark that the EFL have stated in that statement posted above.

If Stoke only have 5 cases then the game should go ahead. Let’s see what the EFL do….

Don't think you can blame Stoke players for going on a Christmas party. Ours did the same after the WBA game. Its not against any rules

Lol @ the EFL statement. As usual a week too late. Wasnt it fucking obvious days ago.....this could have been potentially avoided.

Difference is we played the next week's game after being tested.

If they went out and can't play the next game because they all have COVID.

It looks as if Stoke have 27 "first teamers" and then 7 with squad numbers in the U23.

It only mentions players though, what happens if staff are out too?

It will be on a completely case by case basis depending on the club? Some clubs will have big staffs. Some like us will have small ones. It will just be a common sense approach (if the EFL have that)

Incredible

' Tactically, with 5 out to injury already, makes sense to try and get it cancelled. I wonder if that was in their thinking when they sanctioned the chrimbo party '
