When it's all officially moved to endemic stage or whatever and there are no more restrictions, I'm bang up for the perspex screens everywhere still, if it's good enough to protect buffet salad bars from sneezy bastards it's good enough for me

Never understood the perspex screens - surely they’re mostly useless?

Too much money has been spent to put them up so can't see them ever coming down

Im sure some studies found that glass screens could actually accelerate spread.
Yes Dr Tony Von Vardy actually sprayed the virus on the windows of a Leicester City supporters coach and found buy the time the previously Covid free fans arrived back home in Naaaaaaaaaaaaarborough they had all contracted the virus via surface to tongue transmission.

They don’t work, nor do the stupid face shields some people wear. 2 deaths per million though so better make sure everyone stays masked for years

Madness.

Dread to think the amount of plastic from Lateral Flow tests as well.

Yup and they cant be recycled. Its not just the test but everything they come with. The wrapper around the best. the swab and liquid tube.

Also the cost. Each LFT costs the gov between £5-£10. So a box of 7 is worth £35 minimum before you add on any distribution costs.

Press conference announced at 5pm in the UK. What is this about then?
The hunt for the Antarctic covid spreader has been narrowed down to this Russian penguin. Government to offer up reward for his capture. Apparently the penguin was just visiting a cathedral in the area.

Looking like 29th December could be a case peak by specimen date, now up to 226k! It would be consistent with Christmas day get togethers and the apparently shorter incubation period of Omicron. We shall see though.

Don't think self isolation is being cut but looks like some people will have to do daily tests for certain jobs.

How the fuck is that going to help? It's going to cause even more havoc.

Country will end up at a stand still from people isolating for 7 days. "Transport". So that's going to be shit loads of lorry drivers at home isolating.

Certain companies will have a lot to say about that I’m sure. In the thick highs of Covid I got told to delete the test and trace app if I tested positive by my employers.

It only says certain critical industries so it's pretty vague so far.

If it's a small transport company it could send them bust.

Seems like it's purposely trying to cause mayhem.

Can't find a full list but border force, transport and food processing were examples.

Looks like another manufactured panic shortage.
