The stuff about hiding away is just more hyperbolic nonsense; no one is saying to hide away from it.
Kind of is if we want people to stay at home for 7 days when there's absolutely nothing wrong with them.

Colds and flu are types of coronavirus so it’s not really incredible is it.It’s incredible it’s still being compared to colds and flu.
You are only looking at case numbers though, aren't you?
It is already happening, it's the isolation rules causing more issues at the minute rather than the actual symptoms and illness.
Again, need to look at the bigger picture than "everybody hide and shit themselves, 200k cases". The vast majority of that 200k are now going to be off work for a week when otherwise they would have been at work.
Can you really not see the issues or are you just looking at how many cases every day?
Why do you keep going on about hiding?
I'm advocating the exact opposite, keeping society open but isolating people with the virus to minimise its spread.
You're being you're usual disingenuous self.
You need to put the horse before the cart. The route cause of isolation is infection. Isolation is a means to slow infection which in turn ultimately reduces isolation. You are only looking at case numbers though, aren't you?

Fucking hell.Colds and flu are types of coronavirus so it’s not really incredible is it.
If they’ve tested positive for covid then there clearly is something wrong with them.Kind of is if we want people to stay at home for 7 days when there's absolutely nothing wrong with them.

Don't most places need a positive pcr as proof?
I know that's what's happened in my daughters case.
You keep going on about these symptomless people staying at home for nothing without any evidence and how would that even affect you anyway?
Because it is spreading like wildfire anyway.
It is hiding from it, making tens / hundreds of thousands of people stay off work when they would otherwise be there.
How can you not see that it is staff absences and isolation causing issues rather than the actual thing it's self now?
I'm lying about the people I know who are ill then Nick? Fair enough.
As long as your child care arrangements don't get disrupted that's the maint thing.
Who said anything about without any evidence? I am on about symptomless people in general.
How would it affect me when the whole country grinds to a halt because hundreds of thousands are at home twiddling their thumbs?

Actually they aren’t. Seasonal flu is an influenza virus (clue is in the name). Only about half of the known common cold viruses are coronavirus’ and none of them are anywhere near as transmissible as covid 19 (especially the current variant) and none of them are anywhere as near as deadly. You certainly don’t get people suffering from long cold 12 months later as they do with long covid.Colds and flu are types of coronavirus so it’s not really incredible is it.
What the hell are you on about now? Yes, some people will be ill. The vast majority have a slight cold or even no symptoms.
Do you still actually think everybody who tested positive yesterday will be at death's door or something?
My child care arrangements are fine.
Every peer approved scientific study ever carried out shows isolation works. But I’m sure you know better. How's that working out?
Where's the empathy for the the folks who've had their surgery or screening or scans cancelled again cos 15% of nhs staff are sat at home?
Where's the empathy for the small business who's been swimming against the tide for 2 years and now is suffering further due to this addiction to asymptomatic testing forcing staff to sit on their arse at home while the business goes down the shitter?
Where's the empathy for those waiting even longer for a social care visit or for a police officer to attend or for an ambulance?
I know someone who had a 41 hour wait in A&E over new year while they tried to find some staff who could help section her brother!
At this point, Lack of staff in work is a bigger threat to people's health, wealth and wellbeing than the now dominant, far milder Omicron strain that is already so endemic in the population.
My partner is working with covid positive patients on a daily basis now, including those in the ICU. Her and her colleagues are beyond worried about catching it and passing it onto older parents, grandparents etc.Where's the empathy for the the folks who've had their surgery or screening or scans cancelled again cos 15% of nhs staff are sat at home?

If you need to book again in future I'd recommend to keep checking back every hour or so, we needed to try one on Monday and it was offering Worcester as the closest and then suddenly the entire day's worth at Birmingham Airport appeared out of nowhereNot a single PCR test available within 50 miles of Cov when I booked earlier so now waiting on a home test. Have been showing symptoms since Monday and was in close contact with someone who has now tested positive so I guess I’m going to be isolating until Friday at the earliest before I’m likely to get a PCR result.
I've said repeatedly it will be mild for many people. Try reading my posts if you're going to argue with them.
It doesn't take alarmed percentage of 200k to be very ill for it to be an issue though
Ha! You’re the one who’s been peddling paranoid nonsense such as unvaccinated being bundled into vans and taken off the street. And there are no issues because people have to isolate who are otherwise completely fine to go to work? If really ill, obviously isolate and stay in bed until better.
You are still thinking as if it is still going to kill everybody, all I am saying is at what point do we realise it's more destructive to make hundreds of of thousands of people who could otherwise work sit at home for a week than passing on what the majority experience as a cold .
Only a few weeks ago people were shitting themselves about a made up fuel shortage because of no lorry drivers.

If it was a syringe full of smack I'm surprised you would be so against taking it.Are you sure it was a covid vaccine and not a syringe full of smack?
I said about people potentially being arrested for being out when not fully vaccinated. Not really that much of a stretch though is it? Hardly "paranoid nonsense" either.
Still, carry on thinking everybody is going to die if they get Omicron and people will kill their grans while the whole country goes to shit to "protect the NHS".

Is Covid as transmissible in asymptomatic people as symptomatic? If people are syptomless but positive they should be at home to stop them passing it on to someone that it might make ill.
If theyrenot positive then why would they be isolating?
Crack on with your fake macho bravado.
YesIs Covid as transmissible in asymptomatic people as symptomatic?

If this pandemic goes on much longer then I will be on the smack.
I think there’s a conversation to be had for asymptomatic infection and transmission. I don’t know if there’s a different answer but I’d like to see some arguments. Omicron seems to come on quicker and pass quicker. Where’s the models? Even if Boris and the boys said it this is the chosen policy.I totally disagree. If you test positive you should be isolating in my view.
You're obviously another one advocating let rip.
I'm actually astonished by the lack of empathy by some on this forum.
You're in lock down aren't you? Not sure I could do another one, especially a winter one.
