We might as well forget about the play offs anyway, our own manager referred to us as a mid table team yesterday, so it seems there is no real appetite for a proper push
I agree. I think the losses to QPR and Boro, even after dominating them, seem to have taken a toll on the psyche of MR and the team. Maybe playing like we've got nothing to play for might relieve some of the pressure on the team and allow us to play with reckless abandon and give fringe players (like Tavares, Jones, Shipley etc.) more game time and allow us to make decisions for the summer in terms of who stays, who goes etc.

Most of the fringe players have been binned off or loaned out. The honest answer is that it’s easier not to properly try because then you can say we haven’t really failed as we weren’t taking it seriously to begin with.

That really is a lower league mentality, scared of clubs who on the pitch really aren’t all that.

Flabbergasted by that comment. How have we not tried to win at boro?? Or qpr??
We certainly don’t play as if we are gong for a draw? The only thing any of us can base that on is our lack of increasing our attacking options in the transfer window. If MR read this stuff he’d be flabbergasted too. From we’re shit at the start of the season with a squad worse than we stayed up with to we’re going to be automatically promoted to we’re not even trying to win games

Fans aren’t the most balanced are they???

There's some valid criticism being made about the clubs strategy but some of the hyperbole around it is over the top.

But not adding AM in January was major blunder.

I haven’t said any of those things.

If You didn’t mean that what did you mean

Skybluebeliever said MR identified one he wanted but it didn’t happen for whatever reason

couldn’t sell someone probably despite Boddy and his best efforts

Saw that - suppose that often happens . Just rather we don't get someone for the sake of it. I do agree we need to pick up in that area, but we can't afford to get it wrong, and I'll happily wait until the summer for the right player (we could of course get it wrong, as others do). I'm pretty happy with our squad at the moment. Just really want C O'H or whoever to start chipping in more from that area!

How can we know the psyche of the team has been affected, when we haven't played a game since Boro ?
Well I'm just basing it on MR's latest comment about us being a mid-table team (which in truth we are at the moment). He's also said "rubbish result wonderful performance" on a couple of occasions lately after we have gotten nothing from games we largely dominated. It is only natural to feel a little down I think. That’s all. Look I really want us to go on a run and finish in the playoffs come the end of the season, but the fact of the matter is that we're 18th in the form table over the last 10 games and have a torrid fixture list to end the season.

That’s to do with matters off the pitch and not really to do with what we’re attempting on it.

I don’t often agree with you but it really did seem like a desperate move and he didn’t sound like a bloke you would want negotiating a higher price.

Preston now above us after their win at Hull.

We seem to be sliding down the table every week and I keep seeing the 3 games in hand, really could do with the 3 wins but the pressure it now puts on us is slightly unfair

Looked at Sheff Utd fixtures - they play all the teams around the top over the next 7 or 8 games, so teams will take points off each other up there. We need to have a bit of a run, but we can still stick up there. Glad Hamer and O'Hare came off before extra time, for Tuesday. Think Fadz will need to replace JCS (he needs a week in a Spa resort looking at him earlier - that challenge on Broja!)

Great advert for the championship this year in the FA Cup...various championship teams taking premiership teams to the wire and some going put the sword.

We were a credit yesterday too.

Their confidence is sky high especially in Forests case.

Can't all win, and our confidence should be high once the legs have recovered. I've published Forest's next 10 fixtures elsewhere (before they play us). I'll be surprised if we're not above them at the end of those games.
