That's the way to win as sadly from speaking to people they are sadly on the main not on the drivers side, Also there was a rubbish drop off place in Wllenhall that had to remind people that the staff there are not council refuge workers and could people kindly stop abusing them.

The 2 tier wages with longer service meaning less is the best message to get out there as sadly most people seem to think you are just asking for a big wage rise for no reason.

They don't abuse the workers on London Road on strike , from experience that is

Every worker has the right to strike to better themselves ... that's what we've done , within law

New staff that are in the union are striking too , in solidarity with workers

They won't receive more money based on a grade 5 levelling .

Workers generally don't cross a picket line

Huge pension is a stretch .. back when I was finishing early I was working on the agency , and was driving as a spare driver picking up mostly extras .

I now work 37.5 hours over 5 days on commercial.

They do, and philosophically I've no real issue with people trying to lift themselves up, the same as private sector should maybe strike for better conditions (although reading your posts, I'm thinking I need to agitate for a strike for myself, now!)

It's fair to say public opinion is... split however, around where I live anyway. What virtually nobody will argue with, however, is the get paid the same as a new starter, if that's what the employers think the job's worth. Cut out all the rest, and that's a lot easier to sell if it goes on and on.

I can't look for other work as my license has been revoked for another 4 weeks atleast .
I hope that in several weeks time it's all resolved .

Unless I'm missing something the confusion is because some people are comparing the council to private employers where there are different terms and conditions.

The strikers aren't asking for pay to be matched to that offered by private employers, they're asking it to be matched to what the council is already paying new recruits and will have to pay to their replacements if the strikers were all to leave and work elsewhere.
