The wheels were always gonna slow mate we don’t have the squad or quality to stick it where we was regardless we were punching and ill He happy with mid table finish but a little bravery in jan who knows where we could of ended up

If we end the season just getting taken to pieces by the division's stronger sides off the back of dropping piles of points against the crap then next season looks pretty daunting.

As above-the owners couldn't care less

Sheaf was poor

He wasn't poor but at fault for the goal.

He mopped up well but as usual offers absolutely nothing going forward.

I sense unhappiness, Moff. :)

It's a fair point though, I'd like to see something new tried. There's no point in having him on the bench if you're never going to give him a go...

I'm just very very disappointed in Waghorn, he seems to offer very little since coming back from his injury, and looks far from fit.

I’m not so sure. We’ve got options on the bunch but I’m sure MR has got gear in his chewing gum. What goes on with his subs I’ve no idea?

Waghorn? Why?

Maatsen on the right?

Bidwell kept on?

Crazy.

Good points made I worry about us next season Barnsley style

Barnsley lost their manager, star striker, star midfielder and CEO in a summer. That’s a lot of upheaval for one summer. I don’t think we’ll be a repeat of that.

We're likely to lose a star player, you saw how much we missed Hamer tonight

Well they're on to finish bottom. We'll be in trouble particularly with no deductions next season

All that passing and possession but we never hurt them. Our crosses dont go in early enough, we never change the angle of the cross always want to slide a pass down the side.

Both their goals were because players drove into the penalty area with an intent to shoot.

Felt sorry for O'Hare today. Thought he was carrying the front line. The only player with any urgency or creativity. Great cross for Gyokeres chance. Robbed of a penalty. Otherwise we were toothless.
Could say the same about Cardiff but two moments of poor defending were penalised but decent finishes.

We had a cross put a sitter on a plate and Gyo just goes straight at the keeper. McF has a glorious chance from the corner with time and space but can't even get it on target.

It's a meme

Some of Robins decisions recently have been baffling.

He's working under difficult conditions but his obsession with Bidwell and, more recently, Shipley is strange. Although had he played Shipley at LB, it would have been a better option.

Gyökeres wasn't fit enough and was spent by the second half. How he didn't bring Maatsen on earlier I'll never know.

This will be the season that got away. We had a good opportunity with a good starting 11. The teams around us keep throwing points away but sadly we haven't had the consistency or ruthlessness to make it into the top 6.

Don't think we'll even finish top half at this point. The team look knackered and we have nothing on the bench. Maybe we'll get lucky and Dabo and Godden coming back will spark some life into us but what is that now, something like 4 wins in the league since the start of November?

Gyo played 2 hours at Southampton, then full 90 in the 3 games after that. He's a good athlete but only O'Hare has the stamina to keep running all week and he's not the one being asked to lead the line on his own.

It really is just get to 50 points and forget about the season now. A huge waste of something that really ought to have been more with just a shred of ambition

However frustrating tonight was we’ve got to remember we had Hamer, Godden, Dabo and Eccles out and a couple of lads that don’t look fully fit. Needed a couple old loans in in Jan as we’ve all said

Agreed, he does in the sense that he links up far better with O'Hare particularly, and his starting position is a bit higher which opens up space for us. Kane is a much better crosser but the rest of his game leaves a lot to be desired.
Said it on the match thread last week that the signings of Kane and Bidwell have troubled me. They're very average championship wingbacks, on longish contracts taking up a decent chunk of the budget with 0 resale value. All signs are pointing to a fire sale of our stars in the summer in order to allow re-investment, but more signings like them and we're just going to be a boring lower table Champ side.
I know I'll get pelters for suggesting it but once the gloss of being back at the CBS/live footy wears off and crowds start to dwindle, I predict it will be an ever decreasing circle for a season or 2 with us ending up back in L1.
