The Hyam song hasn’t caught on because it’s shit, too short and only good for 1 verse - it’s not something you would really repeat & by the time it’s caught on it’ll be pretty much over. I agree he needs a song, but ‘Hyam The One & Only’ isn’t it.

I’m going to be the first to say the Gyokeres song needs a lot of work as well. I think doing it to ‘Spirit In The Sky’ is great, but we’re omitting or adding two or three syllables each line which makes it sound forced and shit. There’s a reason it has only had half-arsed airings this season despite him being one of our better players.

We sang the Shipley song for about 20 minutes at home the other week, but only sung the Gyokeres song maybe once all game.

Go-ing on up to the spi-rit in the sky (11 syllables)
We’ve got a big Swede in our side (8 syllables)

…and that’s only the first line. Rewrite it or bin it off.

Hyam's song is a bit short, but it works so well with the song. And supposedly when he first heard about he really liked it. And it'd actually be unique to us. Weird thing is some of the songs that have been proposed have been accused of being too long to be catchy enough. Chants are supposed to be relatively short and simple.

Not a fan of the Gyokeres song (much preferred the Waterloo one). Doesn't scan, doesn't make sense (we don't play in Sky Blue and White for a start) and just another song ripped off another team.

It happened against Blackpool too. All a bit cringeworthy. I don’t wanna shit on the excellent atmosphere but all clubs this season seems to sing the same three or four songs with a few words changed…. It feels a bit USA. We need more Skyblue song.
